Our journey together is guided in my belief that we share an innate ability to grow, heal and change. As your therapist, my role is to listen and guide you towards new deeper insights, discover meaning, quiet your inner critic and help you problem solve. I work with individuals struggling with stress/anxiety, depression/sadness, grief/loss, relationship difficulties, separation/divorce, life-stage adjustments, and family problems. As well, I work with individuals who experience inter-cultural, inter-racial and inter-religious relationship challenges as well as those who identify as gifted or artistic.
I integrate Mindfulness and Self Compassion, emotion-focused, narrative and existential approaches informed by feminist, anti-racist and multicultural practice. My work with individuals experiencing inter-cultural, inter-racial and inter-religious challenges reflects my personal experience as does my work with the gifted and artistic.
Developing self-compassion is fundamental for healing; understanding how our inner critic developed is central. Family experience, intergenerational trauma, and social and institutionalized inequality all play a part. As a therapist I believe all of your experiences- even if talking about them can be uncomfortable- belong in my therapy room.
