My goal in therapy is to engage in a collaborative relationship that is focused on what you need from therapy. I see you as the expert of yourself and I work with you to facilitate a process of discovery, finding out what you need and using my expertise to help you meet some of those needs. Essentially, my aim in therapy is for you to feel better than you feel now. I have been practicing psychotherapy for the past 13 years. I work with adults, and couples. My focus in therapy is on issues of the heart - emotional injuries and pains. I believe that it is never too late to make changes in your life if you are willing.
The therapies I use include Emotion-Focused - helps you identify, express, regulate, make sense of and transform emotion, Mindfulness Cognitive-Behavioural - helps you observe and reflect on thoughts and feelings without judgment, and Dialectical Behaviour - helps you accept your situation and improve your emotional regulation through problem-solving strategies.
