My name is Kim, and my passion is working with children, youth and families. I have experience working in child development centers, preschools, school districts, MCFD, CYMH, and non-profit agencies. My goal is to help individuals and their families heal through stressful and traumatic events. My practice is strength-based, where I encourage the client to share their personal narrative whether that is through words, art or play. My role is to walk beside my clients while offering support and strategies to help them overcome adversity. In order to maximize child and youth engagement I tailor my sessions to meet their unique needs.
Children process stress and trauma differently than adults so I focus on meeting them at their developmental level. This is also true for youth who are experiencing a critical period of development where positive developmental strategies to deal with stress and adversity can have lifelong benefits.
