If you’re functioning on the outside but struggling on the inside, you don’t have to hold it alone. Many people come to therapy feeling anxious, overwhelmed, burned out, or emotionally stuck—often carrying Stress, Anxiety, Depression, Trauma and PTSD, Grief, or disconnection. Therapy can be a steady, compassionate space to slow down, feel understood, and reconnect with what matters. I support children, teens, and adults with Anxiety, Depression, Stress, Trauma and PTSD, Grief, Emotional Disturbance, Self Esteem, and Life Transitions, including Autism and neurodivergent experiences.

I welcome you, if you are ready to make deep and lasting changes in your life to find fulfillment, meaning, new skills and appreciation. I believe that each one of us is on a journey of recovery, healing, repairing, growing and learning how to manifest authentically and creatively. I also believe that the individual personal work we do directly impacts those in our life and our society at large. I know that we need to be connected to our families, neighbours, communities to find health. Similarly, we need to honour our land, our resources and all sentient beings. I look forward to meeting you in person or at a distance.

If you’ve found yourself here, something in you is ready for support — or perhaps simply for things to feel a little lighter, clearer, or more manageable. That in itself takes courage. As your counsellor, I offer a compassionate space where you don’t have to explain or defend yourself — a place where you can speak freely and be truly heard. I meet you with unconditional acceptance while gently encouraging self-reflection, not by telling you what to do, but by helping you reconnect with your own inner knowing.

Human beings, on the whole, are extraordinarily complex. I believe that we each carry within us depths that we do not necessarily draw on in our day-to-day movements, be it by choice, or by a certain unawareness – when what is needed to access our full capacities has not yet been discovered. When feeling stuck, it can be important to be reminded of our resilience and our capacity to change, to flow in the midst of flux.

People tend to turn to counselling when they feel lost, unsure, or just need someone on their team. They may be seeking a place to feel safe in order to explore and discover who they want to be and what they want to do. It's more than okay to ask for help or support. Counselling allows a space where you don't have to feel alone.

Intervention Counsellors
How does an intervention work?
An intervention is a planned, structured meeting in which a person’s family or friends voice concerns about the person’s behaviour and its consequences; the goal is for the person to accept treatment. In this meeting, the person’s loved ones (often with the guidance of a trained interventionist) share how the person’s behaviour has harmed them and the consequences if the person refuses treatment. They collectively ask the person to accept a proposed treatment plan.

How effective are interventions?
There isn’t extensive research on the efficacy of interventions, in part because success is difficult to measure. Individuals often enter addiction treatment after an intervention, for example, but treatment itself may not work, especially if the person only begins due to external pressure from others rather than due to internal motivation to change. However, if all other attempts at helping someone have failed, an intervention may be worth exploring.

What are the limitations of interventions?
While a friend or family member’s intentions are in the right place in wanting to help a loved one through an intervention, there are significant limitations to the approach. The surprising nature of the event can make the person feel ambushed or judged. They may feel embarrassed or ashamed as a result, and relationships may be strained or broken. This can make it difficult for the individual to be receptive to the concerns of their loved ones and the interventionist.

Are there alternatives to interventions?
Rather than confronting a loved one through an intervention, an effective and less pressured approach is to create space for a caring, open, one-on-one conversation. This works best if the loved one asks open-ended questions, listens attentively to the answers, and frames their observations and statements with concern rather than judgment. More than one conversation may be needed, but change can take root over time.
