There are times in life when coping on your own is no longer enough. You might feel overwhelmed, emotionally fatigued, or not quite like yourself, even though you continue to meet the demands of daily life.
Or maybe you’re a parent, watching your teen pull away — overwhelmed, anxious, angry, or shutting down — and you’re not sure how to support them.
Hi I’m Yegi, a Registered Clinical Counsellor and founder of InnerPeace Counselling & Neurofeedback. I work with individuals, youth, families and first responders stuck in survival mode and are ready to understand themselves on a deeper level.

I have a passion for helping people understand the nature of what they're going through, and work collaboratively to find ways of processing, healing, and moving forward. I specialize in working with people experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, neurodivergence, grief and interpersonal difficulties. I understand that people need a safe space to discuss and process their experiences, as well as learn proactive strategies to make healthy life changes. Ultimately, I find people want to be happier in life, and being able to identify barriers and offer specific strategies leads to positive mental well-being.

I work with teens, adults, and couples whose lives have been shaped by complex trauma, ADHD, anxiety, betrayal, and difficult relational or family patterns. They arrive often after other therapy touched behavior but never reached what organized it in the first place. Many are highly capable, yet carrying experiences that altered how safety, worth, trust, and belonging are held. My work is for people ready to understand how survival became personality, physiology, and relationship, and to change the pattern at the level where it was first organized, so steadiness becomes something felt in the body, not only understood in the mind.

Many of the people I work with have spent years trying to understand themselves. They may struggle with anxiety, depression, burnout, ADHD, grief, relationship challenges, or simply feel disconnected from who they are. Others are living with the long-term effects of childhood trauma, attachment wounds, or complex PTSD. Together, we'll explore how your experiences have shaped the way you relate to yourself, others, and the world, creating the understanding needed to reconnect with yourself, move beyond survival patterns, and begin living more intentionally.

No two experiences of trauma or grief are the same. You may feel as though life will never feel right again, or that the pain you’re carrying will never ease. You might even wonder how to get through the day when you’re struggling just to breathe.
Many of my clients come to therapy seeking understanding — to make sense of what has happened, to be truly heard, and to find a safe space to gently explore new ways of living. Drawing on my broad and deep professional experience, I work alongside clients like you who are searching for hope and reassurance that, in time, life can get better.

Many of the clients I see feel a deep sense of sadness, pain, or worry that interferes with their ability to fully engage in their lives. Often they struggle in regulating their emotions, feeling grounded, and effective in their daily living. Relationships with others are more difficult than they would like. Previous experiences or traumas might lead to intrusive memories or thoughts. They might have goals that they fall short of meeting or want to continue to excel under pressure. Life can be stressful, scary, unbearable, and complex- you don't have to face it alone.

We all go through times when we feel quietly lost—like we have drifted from who we truly are. Maybe you have spent years showing up for others, doing the right thing, staying strong. I have been there too—until I could no longer hear my own voice.
If you are tired or longing for something more, you are not alone. You do not need to have it all figured out.
This is where I begin—by offering you a space to exhale the weight you have been carrying, to feel, to just be. Not to fix you, but to gently walk beside you as you find your way back home to yourself.

Cognitive Processing (CPT) Counsellors
How does cognitive processing therapy work?
A CPT therapist helps a client evaluate their thoughts about the trauma they experienced, focusing on maladaptive or self-blaming thoughts that can exacerbate symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, or depression. The therapist will work with a client to help them learn to challenge such thoughts and consider different perspectives. The therapist is also likely to ask a client to work on these techniques at home between meetings, such as writing an account of their trauma that can be read aloud during a future session.
What is cognitive processing therapy for PTSD?
Cognitive processing therapy (CPT) is a form of cognitive-behavioural therapy primarily used in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) to treat individuals who experienced abuse or violence, who survived natural disasters, who were first responders to such incidents, or who otherwise experienced trauma.
How long does cognitive processing therapy last?
CPT is a short-term therapy. Whether conducted one-on-one or in a group, a complete set of CPT sessions typically includes 12 weekly sessions, along with tasks for clients to complete at home, although this can vary depending on a client’s needs or a therapist’s particular treatment plan. Sessions typically last 60 or 90 minutes.
How effective is cognitive processing therapy?
A large body of research supports the use of CPT to treat people experiencing PTSD, finding it to be effective among different age groups, either in one-on-one therapy sessions or in a group therapy environment. Research suggests that although the initial sessions may be difficult, clients tend to begin to feel positive progress after the first few sessions, and that the benefits tend to last well after the therapy ends.
