Life is full of challenges. Most of the time we can handle these on our own, but occasionally, these challenges interfere with our relationships, our happiness, and our emotional, physical, mental and spiritual well-being. We can feel alone, stuck and frustrated. With help, however, we can learn to use our inner strength and resources to move forward in our lives, allowing us to feel happier and more empowered.

I work with couples and individuals on the brink of disaster and /or divorce. You have come to a turning point where you need to end the marriage or create a new one. Maybe the sex is still great, maybe there hasn't been sex for a decade.Your partner enrages you, but you are also mad at yourself for letting things go for so long.
The status quo is intolerable.
Deep down you are both good people who need better tools for the life stage you are attempting to master. Your sense of self and your way of being in a relationship needs a tuneup.
Like an oyster with a grain of sand, we become more beautiful by dealing with the grit.

Difficult problems are not so much solved, as outgrown. I help people do this through the in-depth and compassionate examination of both the present and past, both inner and outer worlds, in an effort to understand the relationship between them. When this is done with sincerity, the result is that we come to know and value ourselves in a totally new way. It becomes possible to free ourselves from negative patterns that often go back generations.

My clients are introspective, serious, and determined. They're looking for change and they appreciate my wide experience, my understanding of their lives, and my open ignorance of their situations. I get into your shoes. We make quick progress and lasting changes because we take things from scratch. I'm most interested in what I understand the least, which are the roots of emotion, reason, body, and spirit. I don't know what's good for you; somewhere inside you, you do. Wherever you go, I follow, even when it's crazy, and that's where we want to go. You're always the expert. You deserve to prevail. (Note: my rates are in US$)

You may understand your past. You may have done therapy before. And still—something doesn’t shift.
Anxiety shows up. Patterns repeat. Your reactions don’t always make sense.
This often happens when experiences haven’t been fully processed at a deeper level—not just in thoughts, but in the nervous system.
I specialize in EMDR therapy to help resolve what feels stuck at the root. This work goes beyond talking about problems. It helps your brain and body integrate unresolved experiences so they no longer drive your present-day reactions.

When we embrace both our intellect and our body wisdom, we have a vital, rich resource of knowledge, awareness and understanding. My practice focuses on accessing, honouring and nurturing what our bodies know, what our voices wish to say, and what sense our minds can make of the human experience.

I see counselling as a collaborative process and believe that therapy offers a chance to heal, grow, and excel in life. I am passionate about helping people see their strengths and recover from limiting beliefs that are often a result of the minor or major traumas that are a part of life. I view symptoms and undesired behaviours as wise, but outdated adaptations that can be transformed. Befriending our mind and finding self acceptance are key tenets that influence my therapy. With a strong emphasis on the therapeutic relationship, I strive to provide a safe, curious, and humorous (at times), space for your personal growth.

How does transpersonal therapy work?
Transpersonal therapy focuses on a patient’s spirituality and meaning in life. Transpersonal therapists might borrow from Eastern traditions as well as Western psychology. They may incorporate techniques including meditation, visualisation, hypnotherapy, dream analysis, and or breathwork to produce altered states of consciousness. The therapist helps the patient to access their consciousness and spirituality to work through difficult mental states.
How long does transpersonal therapy last?
Because the goal is to understand a person as a whole, including their spirituality, treatment can range from months to a year or beyond. While patients learn the philosophy behind transpersonal therapy during treatment, they can also practice its principles throughout life after therapy sessions have ended.
Is transpersonal therapy effective?
Patients have found success with transpersonal therapy; this method is useful in improving anxiety, depression, self-esteem, identity, fears, relationship problems, and other concerns. Improvements in problem areas can continue even after transpersonal therapy ends, as individuals can utilise the tools they’ve learned during treatment sessions.
What are the limitations of transpersonal therapy?
There is some research on the effectiveness of transpersonal therapy, but empirical support for this therapy approach is sparse. It does not have the robust evidence base of other forms of therapy, such as cognitive behavioural therapy or acceptance and commitment therapy.
