I specialize in supporting queer, neurodivergent, and disabled individuals. Many of the folks I work with come to see me because they are feeling caught between their values and patterns shaped by trauma, relationships, or societal expectations. They may be struggling in a world that doesn't fully accept them or searching for a different way of living and relating. Together, we create space to process difficult emotions, explore new possibilities, strengthen boundaries, and build the confidence and skills needed to live in greater alignment with their values.

If it seems like the tide you’ve been swimming against your whole life just turned into a tsunami, you’re not alone. Whether you're suffering with chronic stress or burnout, held hostage by debilitating anxiety or obsessions and compulsions, struggling in romantic relationships, or just grappling with an increasingly hostile and frightening world, it can all just feel like too much, way too much of the time. And, especially if you're queer, trans, non-monogamous, neurodivergent, disabled, chronically ill or otherwise outside the box, it can be hard to know where to go to get the support and care you need.

Person‑Centred Therapy is at the heart of my work because I believe healing begins in a relationship where you feel genuinely seen, accepted, and free to show up as your whole self. Radical acceptance—of your story, your pace, your inner wisdom—is our primary tool. From that foundation, we create a space where you can reconnect with who you are beneath survival strategies and external expectations, especially those shaped by colonial, capitalist, and normative pressures.

Strained relationships; overwhelming anxiety; existential loneliness; chronic shame; feeling inherently broken and unlovable; burnout: if you are neurodiverse, these experiences may be familiar to you. The good news? You don’t have to feel that way forever. You can have a life where you feel connected to the world around you, nurture happy and healthy relationships, and communicate through overwhelm and activation. I provide counselling for individuals and couples struggling with trauma and related conflict/communication issues, attachment/relational wounds, burnout, and grief. I also work with queer and non-monogamous couples.

Whether you are navigating impacts of trauma; experiencing challenges in relationships; exploring gender identity and/or gender expression; going through a life transition; have identified/realized neurodiversity (KCS/VAST, Autism); exploring your sexuality; and/or seeking parental support.
As a queer trans man with identified/realized neurodivergent wiring and an adoptive parent to a neurodivergent child, I prioritize the importance of seeing people as complex, nuanced, and unique individuals.
I strive to keep my practice flexible, authentic, holistic, and avoid 'one size fits all' approaches that attempt to fit folx into little boxes. Life has probably done this enough already, so you deserve a space that will see you for who you are and your ways of being in the world.

I am queer and non-binary. My approach focuses on tending to the multiple truths and parts of self that exist at once. Our work would involve honouring these aspects and exploring how to find personal alignment without erasing these complexities. I believe that the body is one of these complexities and holds both memory and wisdom. Invitations to deepen or restore connection to one’s body (somatics) are often a part of working with me; along with exploring the meaning beneath the words, stories, and beliefs that guide us. Together we can work to expand or reshape these to offer a path to healing, self-compassion and empowerment

As a gender-diverse individual, why might I want to see a therapist who is also gender diverse?
A trans or gender-diverse client may want to see a therapist who is also trans or gender diverse because the client may feel safer sharing their experiences and more confident that the therapist will understand, validate, and support them. But trans or gender-diverse clients can also benefit from therapy with cisgender therapists; this is a personal decision based on the connection between the client and the therapist, and if that connection is strong, therapy will be successful.
What if I cannot find a therapist who shares my gender identity?
Therapy can still be effective if a therapist does not share a client’s gender identity; a large body of research indicates that the most important factor in successful therapy is the therapeutic alliance. A therapist can also be interviewed for sensitivity and competence on gender identity and expression to ensure they possess appropriate knowledge and skills. Many therapists have excellent training and extensive experience working with gender-diverse clients, and that expertise can be invaluable despite a therapist not sharing the same firsthand experiences.
How can I recognise a good therapist for working with gender-diverse clients?
An experienced therapist should be able to help clients explore their gender identity and expression, alleviate discomfort related to their gender identity, treat mental health challenges and trauma, address existing relationships and communication with family members and loved ones, and determine the next steps pertaining to nonmedical or medical gender-affirming interventions. To recognise a good therapist, clients can ask about these topics and explore their comfort and connection with the clinician.
How might I inquire about a therapist’s experience working with transgender clients?
Clients should feel comfortable asking therapists directly about their experience working with transgender or gender-diverse clientele. For example, clients may ask about the therapist’s training and education with regard to gender identity, how many trans clients they’ve worked with in the past, and what sorts of matters were discussed. You may wish to inquire how a therapist specifically supports the needs of transgender clients or clients questioning their gender identity. A good clinician who is nonetheless not the right fit for you is often happy to make referrals to others based on the concerns you articulate in a preliminary conversation.
