As an avid student of yoga and meditation, I strive to bring mindfulness into my counselling work.
"Happiness is not something ready made. It comes from your own actions"- Dalai Lama. Life can be challenging. Navigating those challenges can feel overwhelming at times, but you do not have to do it alone. Reaching out takes a tremendous amount of courage and I would be honoured to be a part of your healing journey. I believe that a strong therapeutic connection contributes greatly to healing and that it is essential to meet clients where they are at in their own personal journey and work forward together.

I work from a trauma informed framework using emotion-focused and relational approaches, attachment modalities, strength-based solution-focused therapies, CBT, DBT, ACT, as well as somatic and mindfulness-based skills to create meaningful shifts - always with compassion and a sprinkling of humour!
I ground my approach in the transformative power of human connection and relationships, working with individuals and couples. I believe that our wellbeing is shaped by what we've learned and experienced while moving through life, and by the ways we consciously and unconsciously relate to these experiences, to ourselves, and to others. I aim to help you transform painful or challenging emotions, understand your patterns, create healthy boundaries, and develop skills for authentic and effective communication, deep connection, and fulfilling relationships.

I have a background in philosophy, creative arts and mindfulness practices.
In psychotherapy, we work through our unique stories and struggles, build emotional resilience, and develop greater insight into our selves. Working with a psychotherapist allows us to safely reckon with our destructive patterns, and to begin to weave new patterns that better support us. We deepen our awareness of our inner worlds, and in the process, we transform our relationships with ourselves and with each other.

As a contemplative psychotherapist & experienced trauma counsellor, trained in family systems, developmental, somatic & creative approaches, I integrate mindfulness & compassion practices with Western counselling modalities.
Within challenge there is opportunity for growth and healing. Any crisis, while intensely difficult, can also put you in touch with your deeper yearnings and surface new strengths and resilience. Without support and guidance though, you can get stuck in painful places. Your life may feel lacking or out-of-control. You may feel overwhelming grief, depression, anxiety & panic. You may struggle to make meaning or be unsure which way to turn. When stress and suffering feel like too much to bear, please reach out for help. We will bring compassionate awareness to your challenges while nurturing your everyday wellbeing and wholeness.

Drawing from sex therapy, CBT, narrative therapy, and mindfulness and somatic practices, I create a holistic framework that addresses the interconnectedness of thoughts, emotions, sensations, and behaviours.
As a social worker specializing in sex therapy, I help clients explore sex and intimacy with openness, curiosity, and compassion. We work together to uncover and understand the factors that shape sexual experiences, including early messaging about sex, cultural narratives, and individual desires. I aim to create a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can express their needs, confront barriers to intimacy and deepen emotional and physical connection. Whether through communication skills, self-exploration, or somatic techniques, I work with clients to determine how they can best experience fulfilling and authentic sexual lives.

My approach includes client-centred, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT) and mindfulness-based practices.
Currently accepting new clients. Are you having difficulties managing stress, processing your thoughts and emotions, or wanting to improve your mental health and adjust to challenging life experiences. I provide a welcoming, non-judgmental, and confidential environment for you to explore and process your experiences. My experiences have taught me that it can be easy to fall into cycles that keep us stuck while our lives continue to move forward. From this, we can utilize your strengths, set goals, and build resiliency to help facilitate healthy mechanisms to break these vicious cycles and develop tools to help you move forward.

Relational approach is most suited for longer term therapy, and I use CBT and mindfulness based types for short-term and solution-focused therapy.
The benefits of my approach lie in using different techniques, tailored to the client's unique personality. Some clients like a directive approach, they want to be guided, to be given an almost 'engineering' model explaining our inner life; some prefer a non-directive, client-centered approach, where they would explore their inner landscape with the therapist as a co-traveler. All clients have relational needs which need to be addressed to, and the therapeutic relationship provides safety, validation, 'repaired' parenting, mutuality, client's self-definition and empowerment. Helping clients practice autonomy is my passion!

Depending on your goals and preferences I often use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy as well as mindfulness skills.
Life can be overwhelming, painful and isolating. These struggles may show up as constant anxiety, panic, chronic fatigue, loneliness, fearing the worst, dreading the days ahead, being critical of yourself, never feeling good enough and obsessive thinking. Often I support individuals experiencing repetitive issues and unhelpful patterns. These may show up in their relationship with themselves and others, at work, school or in their parenting. If you are a parent struggling to support your child, or If you are feeling stuck, limited, or are suffering alone - you could likely benefit from support. You don't have to do it alone!

Included in session homework is a structured mindfulness-based audio program that focuses on the mind/body/spirit connection.
It can be really frustrating and stressful when something is blocking us from the life we want. Sometimes we just need to ask a professional with experience in these areas for help... but this can bring up even more stress, anxiety, and even feel scary. I understand this, and really care about your comfort, happiness, and well-being, which is why I put my full heart into creating a very comfortable and safe therapeutic environment for you through your healing journey.

I embrace mindfulness and awareness as a foundation of therapy.
When we embrace both our intellect and our body wisdom, we have a vital, rich resource of knowledge, awareness and understanding. My practice focuses on accessing, honouring and nurturing what our bodies know, what our voices wish to say, and what sense our minds can make of the human experience.
