I look forward to connecting with you. Reaching out can feel like a big step, especially if you’ve been feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck in patterns that no longer feel right. You might be going through a life transition, facing relationship challenges, or sensing that something is missing—even if things look okay from the outside. Together, we’ll gently explore what’s happening, build clarity and steadiness, and help you reconnect with yourself and others in a way that feels more grounded and manageable.

I draw from a range approaches depending upon your needs and preferences. Among them are cognitive behavioral therapy, interpersonal neurobiological ideas, family systems therapy, and attachment theory. It is common for clients to arrive with issues identified only to discover that there are other deeper and more fundamental issues which underlie them. I work at a pace compatible with your ability to integrate change. I am gentle and encouraging, but firm and forthright. I provide a free initial consultation so you can determine whether you feel comfortable with me. My aim is for you to feel welcome, safe and comfortably challenged.

The best feeling is knowing who we are and feeling safe to be ourselves in the world. I love working with parents and caregivers on the challenges you face, and with you and your child on the underlying reasons for their behaviour. Children do what they do in order to get a need met. Once we understand the protective system of ourselves and our children we can meet our children where they need us most. Health in the early years is linked to health across the lifespan and therapy can lay the foundation for your child's well-being over time.

Healing doesn’t happen in isolation. The worst pain I’ve ever experienced is heartbreak. It’s excruciating. And yet, we open ourselves up to others, again and again, despite knowing the risks. Why? Because connection is essential. Meaningful change happens in the mess and magic of being seen by another human, and the therapeutic relationship itself can be a powerful place for that work. As a counsellor, I’m not a distant observer or a neutral party. I’m genuine, direct, and emotionally present to support your growth.

Hello! I’m Max, I’m a counsellor who works from an existential lens. I have a generalist focus, but I specialize in bipolar disorder. Your mental health is important to me, and I want for us to work together to help you experience relief from what’s bothering you and clarity about your life. The way I work is by first teaching coping strategies to help you regulate in the present, then to explore the deeper emotional and existential basis for what brings you to counselling in the first place.

As a Jungian Psychoanalyst I have accompanied men and women at varying stages of life, from diverse cultural backgrounds, and with widely differing challenges.
Above all, Jungian Analysis values your unique individuality. In addition, it looks to the future. Where does your life energy want to take you next? It is liberating to realize that you are not what happened to you, instead you can choose to become what you are meant to be.

At certain stages in life, older, more tender layers of ourselves resurface, eclipsing the person we are trying to become. These wounded parts often communicate through our unconscious (in the form of dreams or actions misaligned with our values), signaling a need for attention, attunement, and healing. Hidden for protection, they require a secure and stable therapeutic relationship so they can safely reveal themselves. If you recognize and are curious about these deeper layers, we may be a natural fit. My practice supports those who are navigating grief and loss, life transitions, depression, anxiety, and relational trauma.

I am a Jungian Analyst, a depth-psychological specialization requiring many years of additional training and personal work.
You and I can work together to build a relationship with your life as a whole, with particular attention to your personal repeating patterns. We may look at the issues you bring up as guideposts or landmarks on your journey, rather than things to be "fixed".

Difficult problems are not so much solved, as outgrown. I help people do this through the in-depth and compassionate examination of both the present and past, both inner and outer worlds, in an effort to understand the relationship between them. When this is done with sincerity, the result is that we come to know and value ourselves in a totally new way. It becomes possible to free ourselves from negative patterns that often go back generations.

Have you spent your entire life trying to get over your childhood? Do you deal with crippling anxiety, PTSD, crushing depression, severe sleep problems, or struggle with ADHD? My professional area of interest, and my expertise, is in helping people deal with the aftermath of trauma. I offer neurofeedback in-office. Neurofeedback reduces or eliminates symptoms that block your ability to live life to the fullest. Severe trauma--residential school survivors and their families, war veterans, those with histories of childhood abuse--may need two to three 20-session blocks.

You know what you want. You keep doing the opposite. You've done the reading, noticed the pattern, and yet there you are again, pulling away when someone gets close, repeating the argument you swore you wouldn't have, returning to the habit you wanted to leave. That gap between knowing and doing is rarely a discipline problem. It usually means different parts of you want different things. I work with self-aware adults and couples who are tired of insight that doesn't translate. Together we slow things down, look at what these patterns are protecting, and build a different relationship with them.

Working with me is a process of honestly confronting our internal world in a non-judgemental way. Together we can work towards authenticity and a genuine relationship with ourselves and others. Counselling entails finding ways to manage our experiences while changing the underlying issues that perpetuate them. Sometimes, growth means overcoming obstacles through practical work, and sometimes it making sense of our challenges within the broader unfolding of our lives. For affordable counselling options, I supervise Master-level counselling interns through yourpathcounselling.ca

The Centre for Psychodynamic Insights is a virtual clinic specializing in psychodynamic psychotherapy. This approach explores the root causes of symptoms by uncovering and understanding underlying emotions through evidence-based treatment. Through collaborative dialogue, we examine unconscious thoughts and emotions shaped from childhood to the present. We work to relieve symptoms by understanding how these patterns affect current experiences, and create targeted strategies for meaningful change long-term.

How does Jungian therapy work?
Jungian therapy, also called analytical psychology, focuses on a patient’s inner experiences and unconscious mind. Exploring a person’s unconscious mind can be achieved through several means, including the analysis of memories and dreams, and through physical exercises, such as art, dance, and word association.
How long does Jungian therapy last?
Jungian therapy is an intensive treatment type. Because its goal is to understand a person as a whole, including the unconscious aspects of them, treatment can range from months to years. Since patients learn the theory behind Jungian therapy during treatment, they can also practice its tenets throughout life after therapy sessions have completed.
Is Jungian therapy effective?
According to studies, many patients find success with Jungian therapy, and the century-old treatment has a devoted following. Researchers note that the therapy is particularly useful in improving relationships, self-esteem, anxiety, and depression. Improvements in problem areas seem to continue even after the end of Jungian therapy, as people are able to continue working on themselves using the tools they’ve learned during the treatment.
Is Jungian therapy evidence-based?
Jungian therapy is theory-based, derived from the theories of Carl Jung, a Swiss psychiatrist often called one of the fathers of psychology, along with Sigmund Freud. Jung developed his theories from observing the problems of patients, and developed many theories of how the mind works. Subsequent psychological research has determined that Jungian therapy can lead to significant improvement in most patients.
