I work with people on a variety of issues including relationships, PTSD, phobias, anxieties, sleep issues, eating disorders and grief and loss etc through hypnotherapy and counseling work. I also do past life regressions and use family constellation philosophy for people who are ready and open to that. I am formally trained by Dr Brain.Weiss in PLRT and also have on going training in Family constellation with Hellinger school based in Germany. I translated Bert. Hellinger's books from English into Chinese (the developer of family constellation) "looking into the souls of children" and the book "an education for our time".

I am a Mindfulness-Based Counselling Hypnotherapist in Victoria, BC, working primarily through video sessions, with in-person available locally.
There comes a point where you may feel ready for more clarity, steadiness, and a quieter, more peaceful mind — along with a desire to move forward with greater choice and confidence, even if you’re not yet sure how. Many people I work with come to me having already put in effort to change, yet still find themselves slipping back into familiar patterns. I offer a warm, grounded, and intentional therapeutic space where we deliberately work with thought patterns, reactive habits, and deeper limiting cycles that keep repeating. Sessions are supported by a structured mindfulness-based audio program to continue the work at home.

Do you feel stuck in patterns that leave you anxious, overwhelmed, or disconnected—from yourself or your partner.? My approach is rooted in helping you understand the patterns beneath the reactions and unhealthy coping strategies. Instead of just managing symptoms, we look at where these patterns began, what they’ve been protecting, and why they feel so hard to change. Clients tell me that our work brings clarity quickly; even in the first session. We connect the dots between past experiences and present struggles in a way that finally makes sense. I offer youth, individual, substance-use, and couples counselling in Victoria, BC.

With over 15 years experience supporting children, youth, and adults with developmental disabilities and neurodiverse needs, my work as an art therapist is grounded in deep respect for each individual's unique voice and capacity for growth. My practice is person-centered, trauma-informed, and inclusive, rooted in the belief that everyone has the capacity for growth, healing, and self-expression. Art has been a powerful tool for myself when I have found it difficult to express complicated feelings with words alone.

Dramatic change in just one session. - - A vastly improved life experience in 10 sessions or less.
My approach is solution-focussed and clients can expect improvement in their situation with each session.
Most clients require only 1-5 weekly sessions. Many also choose ongoing monthly/bi-monthly sessions to maintain momentum.
The most frequent feedback I receive is that I have provided the 'aha' moment, which allows forward movement and upward growth in my client's lives. My clients also comment on how different it feels to have a counsellor who has personally worked through the same issues they are experiencing.

I see people either in person at my office in Victoria or online via FaceTime or Teams.
Difficult problems are not so much solved, as outgrown. I help people do this through the in-depth and compassionate examination of both the present and past, both inner and outer worlds, in an effort to understand the relationship between them. When this is done with sincerity, the result is that we come to know and value ourselves in a totally new way. It becomes possible to free ourselves from negative patterns that often go back generations.

I believe in an individualized, caring and respectful approach when working with clients to become more resilient and effective in their lives. Many people believe that the skills and motivation needed to maneuver all of life’s obstacles are automatically within all of us. But many of us learn ineffective ways of communicating, develop unhealthy patterns or find ourselves stuck with no idea of how to move forward. Having a dedicated time to examine patterns, build skills and develop a deeper understanding of ones’ strengths can help build a greater sense of wellness and clarity in our lives.

No matter what you are struggling with, remember that on the other side of this difficult time will be increased wisdom, the exciting potential of a better you and more of what you want. We all have a survivor inside of us, an innate ability to overcome even the most difficult of challenges. Talking to someone can help you harness the strength that lives inside you. I believe this is the essence of counselling.

What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.
When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.
How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
