Life can feel overwhelming at times — especially when we’re navigating transitions, grief, anxiety, depression, or challenges in our relationships and family dynamics. As a counsellor, I’m here to walk alongside you with curiosity and compassion. Together, we can explore the parts of you that may feel hidden, stuck, or unheard, and begin uncovering new ways forward that feel aligned and meaningful. You don’t have to carry it all on your own.

In our early sessions, I have an emotionally focused approach, building self-awareness and empathy, and gradually moving toward exploring and addressing concerns.
Hello, I’m Nadine, and in the photo with me is my dog, Toby (If you look closely, you can see the resemblance;). Working as a Registered Nurse (RN) in critical care, mental health and community, I have walked alongside people from all stages of life at their most vulnerable, witnessing both the weight of pain, trauma, and loss, and the beauty of resilience, joy, and healing. These experiences shape my approach, making it integrative, holistic, and deeply attuned to your unique needs, honouring all aspects of your life and well-being, fueling my passion for working with adolescents, families, couples, and individuals.

As a counsellor, I look to come alongside individuals while they navigate difficult situations, process intense emotions, or assist them in making a change in their life. In my work as a counsellor, I believe in helping individuals discover their own strengths in even their weakest moments. I will provide unconditional positive regard, support and empathy to individuals who may be struggling with life stressors, anxiety, depression, amongst many other concerns. I view all individuals as capable of overcoming obstacles and seek to support them in discovering their inner resources and resiliency.

Specialized training in AEDP, Coherence Therapy, Gottman Method, Experiential Psychotherapy, and EFT.
You can explain exactly why you get anxious, why you pull away in relationships, why you doubt yourself despite your accomplishments. But understanding hasn't changed the pattern. The same reactions still show up. Maybe you've done therapy before. It gave you insight, but not transformation. You're done analyzing. You're ready to work with what's creating these responses: the insecurity, attachment wounds, and patterns in your nervous system. You're looking for a therapist who will guide meaningful inner work that rewires the beliefs, emotional wounds, and stuck patterns underneath. You want real change, not just validation.

I use an integrative approach grounded in Emotionally Focused, person-centered, and existential therapies.
I work with thoughtful and capable adults who find themselves unsettled by events that arrive without warning, as well as those worn down by repeating patterns. Sometimes, people come to therapy when their ways of coping feel worse than the problem itself. In our sessions, we move at your pace, creating room for clarity as we explore your experiences, emotions, and inner knowing. The aim isn’t to arrive at a single answer, but to develop a more accurate and balanced perspective that can open new pathways for change. I offer a steady space while new choices begin to take shape. Come as you are. We can take it from there.

Struggling with disordered eating or eating disorders is SO HARD. Your mind is a muddled mess of constant thoughts about food and your body. Something that sounds like... "Maybe I’ll skip lunch with my friends because it’s just too stressful to eat food I didn’t cook myself." "I need to eat as little as possible today to make up for that shameful binge last night." "I have got to stop purging after meals but if I do I’m going to gain weight." Perhaps you are tired of being stuck in cycles of restriction, fed up with avoiding your favourite foods because you’re fearful you’ll binge, or sick of making yourself sick.

I work with individuals navigating a range of challenges. It’s about learning to understand and befriend our own nervous system—seeing how it shapes our feelings, thoughts, and actions. By paying attention to the connection between the body and mind, we can build a stronger sense of safety, confidence, and flexibility. This kind of awareness helps you know yourself better, handle emotions with more ease, and create healthier relationships.

Are you considering divorcing your partner because your trust has been deeply violated? Are you scared of losing your relationship and want to reconnect with your partner? We begin with a process of healing that honours the truth of your experience. Where there is disconnection, we create emotional space to be understood. Where there is a cycle of conflict, we build structure that makes productive conversations possible. Together we work towards a relationship that is honestly repaired or consciously redefined. Individuals navigating anxiety, ADHD, or substance use are also welcome, especially when these affect your relationships.

Emotionally Focused Counsellors
Who is emotionally focused therapy for?
Emotionally focused therapy (EFT) is for couples who are emotionally distressed, stuck in an unsatisfying relationship pattern or feeling deeply alienated. They may even believe the relationship is beyond repair. Very often, the partners display intense anger, fear, grief, loss of trust, or a sense of betrayal in the relationship. In addition, EFT is helpful to couples and individuals who have difficulty expressing emotions and those who have trouble regulating emotions.

Why do people need emotionally focused therapy?
People need emotionally focused therapy because the need for others is built into the brain, but the pressures of daily life can erode feelings of love, and couples often do not have the skills to find their way back to the comfort of each other. Instead, they may be stuck in repetitive patterns of anger, fear, grief, loss of trust, or a sense of betrayal. Emotionally focused therapy regards such strong negative feelings as expressions of protest over the loss of connection and turns them into pathways of reconnection.

What happens in emotionally focused therapy?
Over the course of eight to 20 weekly sessions, couples de-escalate their negative emotional reactivity to one another so that they can listen to each other and be responsive to each other’s needs. Then the deep emotional and physical bond is restored, giving partners a sense of comfort and security, which they can use to solve whatever problems come their way. The therapist plays an active role, helping partners understand how anger and withdrawal are actually misguided cries for connection.

What problems does emotionally focused therapy treat?
EFT is designed to help couples stuck in dysfunctional relationship patterns regain closeness and rebuild their relationship. Typically, such couples experience considerable distress, with partners feeling alienated and distrustful of one another, not certain their relationship can survive. EFT is also helpful to individuals experiencing attachment-related fears of loss; it helps them learn to use their fears as a way of eliciting the closeness they desire.
