Since I experienced anxiety attacks, eating issues,
relationship
challenges and more, I sought teachers and therapists to help me so that I would not be stuck in suffering.
My focus is to address your issue(s) and teach practices such as meditation/relaxation, feeling feelings, managing mind, and how to recognize and access intuition. I use methods such as CBT, EFT, Gestalt Psychology, and guided imagery for intuition development. Also I am recovered from anxiety, an eating disorder,
relationship
challenges and more and so I use the practices too. I address various areas for example anxiety, depression, eating issues, ADHD, sleep issues, grief, burnout, pain management, separation, family issues and dating issues.

If you are suffering with trauma, substance abuse,
relationship
difficulties, a loss of a loved one, parenting issues or simply in need of guidance in your life; I am here for you.
The deepest desire of a human is to belong…to be heard…and to be accepted… Sometimes life presents us with difficulties that are tough to manage or resolve on our own. There are times when we need to ask for help in order to find ourselves and to move forward. As a person and a counsellor, I know that life’s challenges can happen at all stages of our lives at multiple levels and that every situation is unique to us alone. Circumstances that can challenge how we think, how we perceive, how we believe and how we respond.

Counselling is a supportive
relationship
with the intention of increasing self-awareness, self-regard, and resourcefulness.
I love to work with people inspired to increase their personal and/or professional satisfaction. This might mean attending to limiting beliefs, self-confidence, self-regard, boundary-setting, communication, biases, unhelpful behaviours,
relationship
+conflict skills, connection, vulnerability, and compassion. Using evidence-based tools, I aim to help you increase your self-understanding, manage difficulties more skillfully, employ regulation skills, evolve adaptations, notice choices that you hadn't previously seen, and increase your sense of well-being.

relationship
issues, and addictions.
Working with me is a process of honestly confronting our internal world in a non-judgemental way. Together we can work towards authenticity and a genuine
relationship
with ourselves and others. Counselling entails finding ways to manage our experiences while changing the underlying issues that perpetuate them. Sometimes, growth means overcoming obstacles through practical work, and sometimes it making sense of our challenges within the broader unfolding of our lives. For affordable counselling options, I supervise Master-level counselling interns through yourpathcounselling.ca

When painful thoughts and emotions show up, it can be like trying to find our way through a fog. It’s hard to live the way we want to when anxiety makes our mind spin in circles, when shame hangs on us like a dead weight, and when our inner voice is constantly questioning and criticizing. As painful as they are, these feelings are here to show us that something needs to change. By listening to them and working through them together, we can clear the path to a life that is manageable and fulfilling. In my practice, I work with adults—both individuals and
couples
—to help them find that path.

The people I work with may be seeking help to address grief and loss, anxiety, depression, traumatic and overwhelming experiences, and/or
relationship
issues. I also work with those aspiring toward personal growth. My clients may find that life seems to lack meaning, that their efforts don't quite take them where they'd like to be. Often, beneath such concerns and uncertainties are deeper questions that I help people explore and respond to, such as, Who am I? Where do I belong? What is my purpose?

Couples Counselling
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.
When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.
How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.
How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
