While I have always been around children, I have studied their development over the last ten years.
Founder and Registered Clinical Counsellor of Pediatric Power Play. The clients I serve are typically between the ages of 3 and 19. However, I work from a family systems lens, which operates on creating consistency and allowing my clients to include their parents or have separate therapeutic relationships with them. The needs and goals of each client vary between building confidence, emotional regulation, coping strategies, relationships, and so much more. One thing in common for all my clients is allowing them space to explore and navigate to find their identity and support them in accomplishing any change.

I've worked in social services for over 10 years working with women fleeing domestic violence, children and youth as an outreach counsellor and have worked through grief and loss through personal experience.
My priority as a therapist is to create a non judgemental, client focused space for you to explore the many facets of yourself. Oftentimes during our upbringing we start to tuck away components of self in order to fit in until we come to a time where we feel fragmented. Therapy can be a wonderful space to allow for these pieces to come back together and to feel free to be the truest version of yourself. Whether you are experiencing anxiety, have gone through a recent loss or transitioning into a new chapter of life, I am here to walk beside you. I look forward to working with you.

I have worked as a child protection social worker for almost 7 years.
My hope for you in the counselling process is to create a space that allows for both the grace and the messiness of being uniquely human. I strive to approach counselling in a collaborative, relational and person-centred way. I embrace and empower the strengths and capacities that people carry with them into the therapeutic process, and endeavour to build on these pre-existing capacities.

I guide people in a process of befriending their unique nervous system, recognizing that it plays a fundamental role in shaping our emotions, thoughts, and behaviours. Attuning to the body-mind relationship, allows us to cultivate a deeper sense of agency, safety, and resilience. This embodied practice leads to greater self-awareness and adaptability, fostering healthier relationships and promoting emotional regulation for a more empowered, balanced life.

Racialized adults, trauma-exposed professionals, neurodiverse people, and others. I've noticed a trend... Some people wait as long as they can before getting support, others reach out early, but no one is better off alone. During my time counselling adults, families, and youth, I've seen first-hand how Connection is at the heart of Healing. Trauma can hold us back. Neurodiversity complicates things (like navigating a society not designed with you in mind!). Grief, Loss, and other Life Transitions add extra Stress during trying times. With support, I'm confident you'll find your way forward.

"We are all wired for connection. It’s in our biology. As infants, our need for connection is about survival. As we grow older, connection means thriving – emotionally, physically, spiritually, and intellectually. Connection is critical because we all have the basic need to feel accepted and to believe that we belong and are valued for who we are” - Brene Brown At the core of my practice, I believe that a meaningful therapeutic connection can spark change. Talk therapy is a powerful tool to build and enhance acceptance, connection, and healing.

Living in today's world is hard and complex. Psychotherapies have also evolved a lot in the past 10 years, and the timing is ripe to heal intergenerational trauma. My approach seeks to meet people where they are at and provide a deep understanding from which change can happen. I've been a therapist for 14 years and retrained in trauma therapies such as EMDR and Somatic Psychotherapy halfway through my career. I have a lot of trust in people's ability to heal and change, having witnessed these profound journeys many times.
