I am also experienced in navigating the Autism world and Autism Funding System in BC, and therefore love to support parents and children in that realm.
My passion is to support neurodiverse and any children/youth who are just trying to grow up and figure out life in their own unique way. We are all complex and different, so I strive to honor that along with build upon our own strengths. No one is perfect, but there is always room to grow. If we can build these tools early, what is more fulfilling than seeing our young ones find their true selves and flourish to their full potential? Let's cultivate resilient souls, in a harsh world. I additionally love to support parents who just want the best for their children, along with anyone trying to find their way through this life journey.

I am registered both as a First Nations Health Authority Provider and an Autism Services Provider.
I understand clients have challenges that they would like support with navigating through. They need a counsellor who is non-judgmental, compassionate, and safe. Typically, client's goals revolve around achieving more self-awareness, skills, and abilities to help themselves live a meaningful life. I want to facilitate their passion about growth and creating lifestyles that support their values and goals. I support neurodiverse clients through affirming care, utilize strengths to help with growing edges, and understand that many underlying challenges are the result of societal expectations.

If you’re overwhelmed by anxious thoughts, caught in overthinking, or feeling disconnected from your emotions, I’m really glad you’re here. Many of my clients describe feeling foggy, exhausted, or frustrated that they “should” be coping better but can’t seem to. Anxiety, avoidance, and OCD are just some that can quietly shape your days, making work, friendships, and routines feel heavier than they should. Together, we’ll slow things down, make sense of what’s happening inside, and support you in reconnecting with a steadier, more flexible version of yourself.

I love working with children of all ages. I have been working with children with Autism for over 17 years now; first as an interventionist and now as a Behaviour Consultant. Whether it's working on self help skills, acedemic skills or social skills, I work hard with ASD clients and their families to help them reach their fullest potential through a fun, play based therapy. I like my clients to feel comfortable with me so I like to play games and make them laugh a lot. Sometimes they don't even realise that I'm teaching specific skills. Please feel free to reach out, I would love to hear from you.

Many people seeking support for their mental health often feel misunderstood or invalidated—especially those who identify as neurodivergent, autistic, or highly sensitive.
Do you identify as neurodivergent, in particular are a highly sensitive or autistic adult who experiences the world differently? Are you questioning your relationship with alcohol, its impact on your life and are curious about navigating a way forward? Are you dealing with the unique and highly personal issues that come with the end of life experience?

Every person has inherent strengths, abilities, and knowledge; however, when life gets challenging, we could all use a non-judgmental guide to partner with, to find goal-oriented solutions. I have demonstrated ability helping adults struggling with heartbreak (separation/divorce), lower mood, feeling anxious and/or using substances more than they would like. I have a passion for working with people who are neurodiverse, adults with disabilities including developmental disabilities. It is a pleasure to provide parenting supports. I understand when the system needs a push and value the contribution of frontline workers.

I work with people who are queer, neurodivergent, fat, disabled, and learning how to care for themselves in a world that is becoming increasingly hostile to these ways of being.
I offer counselling services grounded in anti-oppressive values. I show up as a fellow human in our sessions, to help you feel seen, understood, and like you are not alone in what you are going through. Along the way, I might pull from a variety of therapeutic approaches to help meet your needs as they come up.

My other area of focus is Neurodivergence, and love working with ADHD and Autistic folks.
Struggling with disordered eating or eating disorders is SO HARD. Your mind is a muddled mess of constant thoughts about food and your body. Something that sounds like... "Maybe I’ll skip lunch with my friends because it’s just too stressful to eat food I didn’t cook myself." "I need to eat as little as possible today to make up for that shameful binge last night." "I have got to stop purging after meals but if I do I’m going to gain weight." Perhaps you are tired of being stuck in cycles of restriction, fed up with avoiding your favourite foods because you’re fearful you’ll binge, or sick of making yourself sick.

What is the most effective treatment for autism?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) has come to be considered the standard treatment for children with autism spectrum disorder, and research has confirmed its effectiveness for many children. Therapists trained in ABA techniques work with children (and their parents) on developing social skills, communication and learning abilities, and everyday habits of hygiene and grooming. The clinician will tailor their program to the child’s particular need but the overarching goal will be to help them advance as far as possible toward independence based on their level of symptoms and decrease the need for additional special services. Families should seek a mental health professional specifically trained in ABA, and holding special certification in the technique, who has extensive experience not only with the approach but in using it with children with the same level of symptoms as the child who needs care.

How does ABA work?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) sessions, which typically focus on positive reinforcement, can be intensive, lasting two or more hours several times a week, and continuing for two years or more. Therapists can also be expected to ask parents to take an active role in reinforcing lessons. Research has found that the technique can lead to major improvements that decrease the need for additional special services.

How does treatment for autism work?
Therapy sessions based on Applied Behavior Analysis will likely be frequent, intensive, and highly structured. After a thorough assessment, a therapist will help a child understand and develop skills in a range of areas, including communication, motor skills, social skills, self-care, play, and academic skills, as well as routines of daily living like hygiene. Typically, the therapist will help a child break down the components of a behavior—often referred to as the antecedent (what prompts an action), the behavior, and the consequence(what immediately follows)—and then reward the child at every step, while also asking parents to reinforce the lessons, and the rewards, throughout the day. This core therapy may be supplemented by occupational or speech therapy, and antidepressants, antipsychotics, and anticonvulsants may be prescribed to address specific severe symptoms.

How long does therapy for autism take?
Some people with autism spectrum disorder may be engaged in some level of therapy for many years, but research shows that treatment will be most effective if it is begun early and delivered intensively. When therapy begins by age 3, children tend to be better able to grasp and adopt the skills needed to manage everyday life, including attending school and establishing social relationships. This type of early-intervention treatment regimen is highly structured, typically involving 20 to 40 hours of one-on-one therapy per week, along with additional hours of engagement managed by parents, for a period of two years or more, although the duration of treatment is dependent on the child’s level of symptoms and pace of progress.
