Traumatic life events come in many forms. People feel powerless and groundless; often experiencing life on autopilot. If you experienced a traumatic event as a child or the care you received involved toxic amounts of stress, abuse or neglect, a variety of attachment wounds can interfere with your present-day relationships, parenting abilities, and general well-being. Experiencing loss, rejection, abandonment, abuse or neglect disrupts development and changes our focus to survival. There is no timeline for healing from trauma, but it is possible to recover and create the life you desire.

As a late diagnosed ADHD woman and who's family is all neurospicy, this is an area of specialty for me, along with anxiety, depression, and grief.
Seeking help is not a weakness, it is a sign of strength and courage - and it's smart. I know. I've done and continue to do it....and it has changed me for the better. It has helped me metabolize life, to navigate pain, and heal from trauma.
To "re·solve" means: settle or find an answer or solution; to rectify; sort out; or deal with; decide firmly on a course of action; determine or make a commitment to do something; separate into components; dissolve or disintegrate; reduce or divide; analyze, dissect, categorize; disperse; subside or heal; to move from dissonance to consonance or harmony; to be changed or transformed.

I work with children over 10, adolescents and adults affected by anxiety, depression, abuse, grief, low self-esteem, shame, eating disorders, OCD, identity, individuation, relationship issues, spiritual questions, and life transitions.
Everyone is unique in how they process life. "Talk" therapy is great for some people and issues, but I also offer play therapy, sand tray and art to clients of all ages to explore their inner worlds. I often combine expressive arts with an Internal Family Systems approach so clients can use images and metaphors to identify and express their parts.

As a queer trans man with identified/realized neurodivergent wiring and an adoptive parent to a neurodivergent child, I prioritize the importance of seeing people as complex, nuanced, and unique individuals.
I strive to keep my practice flexible, authentic, holistic, and avoid 'one size fits all' approaches that attempt to fit folx into little boxes. Life has probably done this enough already, so you deserve a space that will see you for who you are and your ways of being in the world.

I draw on specialized training in approaches to help you process trauma (EMDR, parts work), heal your relationship with food and your body (CBT/IE/FBT), and shift distressing patterns related to anxiety and mood dysregulation (DBT, ACT).
Virtual therapy available. Have you noticed yourself caught in distressing cycles that feel too hard to break? A part of you wants change, while another feels scared or overwhelmed and keeps getting in your way.
Maybe you've become preoccupied with "fixing" yourself and are stuck striving for perfection and control. Emotions might feel too strong, so you avoid them. Maybe you don't feel at home in your body, and food has become stressful to navigate.
We’ll explore your inner world with curiosity and care, helping you understand all parts of yourself. With mindfulness, emotions can arise and be tolerable and even helpful.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.
What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioural therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioural Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.
How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.
How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
