Most people don't come to counselling on a good day. They come carrying something that's gotten heavy. Anxiety, depression, OCD, substance use, or some tangled combination that doesn't fit one category. Sometimes it's acute, sometimes it's been building for years. Either way, it deserves honest and open attention. True meaningful growth doesn't always feel like growth. The process is iterative. Sometimes it requires stepping back to compose ourselves before getting out there again. No therapist holds all the answers, but direction gets clearer when we allow ourselves time to understand, accept, and respond to how we're struggling.

You may be navigating life between cultures, carrying family expectations that feel misaligned, or quietly questioning your identity, relationships, or sense of belonging. My clients often arrive at a crossroads — something feels off, but it's hard to name. They may be processing immigration or cultural transition, untangling intergenerational family patterns, or exploring their sexuality or neurodivergent experience for the first time. Together, we slow down, make space for what's been hard to carry, and gently work toward clarity, connection, and a more grounded sense of self.

If you’re feeling stuck in painful patterns, weighed down by anxiety, grief, or past trauma, or struggling to connect in your relationships, you’re not broken—you’re human. Many of the people we work with at Lotus Therapy & Counselling Centre feel like they’re carrying emotions too big to hold alone. They’ve spent years trying to push through, make sense of it all, or just "be strong," only to find themselves exhausted, disconnected, or unsure of how to move forward. We go beyond traditional talk therapy to tackle the root causes of your struggles, not just the symptoms.

Are you feeling stuck in the same unhelpful patterns? Is it getting more and more difficult to live through anxiety, depression, addiction, challenging relationships or escalated emotions? Reaching out can be hard, but it's the first step towards living a more intentional, fulfilling and joyful life. Conducting in-person therapy in Vancouver, or virtual counselling throughout BC, my approach to therapy is to meet you where you're at with a non-judgemental, curious and empathetic stance. Using concrete tools, I work with clients to build self-acceptance and resilience, while nurturing the belief that meaningful change is possible.

I work with many organizers, activists, community leaders, artists, and people who are struggling with living in a world that doesn't support their identities, experiences, and well-being. I draw from a number of different approaches including somatics, creativity, narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy, and parts work depending on the client's needs and preferences.

Do you feel distressed but don't understand why? Have you tried different methods and it only helped a little but never get ahead? Have you ever wondered what the core issue is? Working with me might find you those answers. A lot of people ask who gets counselling, I believe that anyone who experiences stress could get a therapist; however, many have amazing family and friends that allow them to bounce ideas, inspire motivation, and provides insight so counselling really isn't needed. Most people wait till they are in crisis to get help which would mean a rough journey to baseline. Let's be preventative rather than reactionary.

Many things in life are outside our control, and the pain, loss, and struggles we carry can feel heavy and overwhelming. Many of us carry our hurts, traumas, and struggles without knowing how to set them down. In counselling, I offer a space where your story—both the wounds and the resilience—can be held with care and you don’t have to hold them alone. Together, we will explore how past experiences shape your present, and how compassion, awareness, and connection can bring clarity and healing to your relationship with yourself and others.

Hi! I work with a diverse range of people, including those experiencing eating disorders and disordered eating, anxiety, depression, familial conflict, trauma, cPTSD, and cultural issues. Any of these issues can likely be taking up too much space in your life. They could be affecting your mood, your health and well-being, or your sense of self-worth. No matter where you are on this spectrum, your struggle is real and valid, and you don't have to face it alone.

Most of my clients are wired a little differently, and the work fits the wiring. I see neurodivergent adults and youth: the ADHD engineer who can build anything except a morning routine, the creative whose best ideas arrive at 2am while the paperwork never arrives at all, the parent trying to decode a kid who doesn't run on the standard operating system. Therapy with me is practical. We figure out how your particular brain actually works, then build strategies around it instead of forcing it into shapes that never fit. The goal: less overwhelm, more traction, and a daily life that feels like yours.

Are you a gay man who feels anxious, stressed, disconnected or unsure how to move forward—either in your life or your relationship? Maybe you overthink everything, struggle to relax during sex or feel distant from your partner. You might feel pressure to keep it all together while quietly suffering inside. I know reaching out can be hard when you don't know what to expect. I offer a warm, non-judgemental and shame-free space where you can feel safe, supported and truly seen.

My ideal clients are adults, immigrants, and people navigating profound life transitions, cultural adaptation, or grief. Many feel disconnected or "stuck" in unhelpful behavioural patterns, seeking a culturally sensitive space to process career, life or relationship challenges. Rooted in psychoanalysis, I offer an empathetic space to explore unconscious dynamics shaping your reality. I also integrate CBT, narrative, and creative tools. We work collaboratively at your pace to build resilience, bridging past and present to foster deep self-awareness and belonging.

Are you someone who feels deeply and finds yourself carrying more than you show? Many of the people I support come to therapy when life feels overwhelming and they need a gentle space to slow down, reflect, and feel heard. You may be navigating stress, anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, grief, burnout, trauma, life transitions, identity questions, family conflict, work-life balance concerns, low self-worth, or other emotional challenges. If you are hoping to feel lighter, gain clarity, build resilience, strengthen boundaries, or reconnect with yourself, you are not alone — and you don’t have to cope alone.

You are a naturally curious free spirit, yet you feel confined by societal, cultural, or familial expectations that prevent you from being your true self. It’s as if you’re stuck in a box, longing to break free but unsure how. You seek to impact the world positively by giving love, kindness, and understanding, yet you also crave to receive what you offer. Conflicting advice on how to live leaves you confused, and you're ready to break through these barriers to live in a way that is meaningful to you.
