Are you tired of feeling invisible and powerless? Are you tired of hurting, feeling depressed, and hopeless and that you don't matter? Do you long to feel safe and connected? As a result of healing my own childhood trauma from sexual abuse , I now specialise in supporting people, in a trauma informed way, as they navigate the confusion of living with adversities, and trauma. I am passionate about guiding people to a place of living instead of merely surviving. The truth is that our adversities actually become windows to learning how to live magnificently. We are not what was done to us!

Some of my experiences include counselling survivors of sexual assault and other forms of gender based violence, providing daily support for folks living with mental illness and addictions, and short term crisis line support.
Trauma impacts how we see the world, navigate through our experiences, and connect with others. Even though you are not the product of a single experience or relationship, one experience can feel so overwhelming that it overtakes over all others. Together, you can start to dream about what life will look like if this problem or memory wasn't an obstacle anymore. What would be different? And what strengths and resources do you already carry with you to start that process.

The areas I specialize in include grief and loss, anxiety, depression, sexual abuse and attachment/relational trauma.
By processing past material that has become stuck in the nervous system, we can come out of being either overly activated or tuned out. I have devoted my practice to working holistically with those who wish to free themselves from the grips of trauma and return to states of safety, connection and empowerment.

PTSD or Trauma related to stressful life changes, psychological / emotional / physical childhood abuse, neglect, rejection, abandonment, exploitation, sexual abuse , incest or witnessing family violence could result in experiencing distorted perceptions, emotions, beliefs and meanings about life. Trauma freezes the traumatic experience in the nervous system creating unhelpful thinking, negative self-assessment, and self-defeating / self-sacrificing behaviours. These conditions can affect your capacity to tolerate and adapt to life's ups and downs; to break old patterns that hold you back; to avoid engaging in risky behaviours/situations; and to avoid re-enacting your past traumas over and over.

I go by he/him/his and I work with folks who are in the marginalized group(s) (gay/bi/queer, person of colour... etc.) who experienced discrimination and/or sexual and physical assault who wants to have more options to respond and understand themselves. Folks who feel that they oftentimes react out of proportion to the situation and experienced challenges to trust and build favourable relationships with others. Folks who want to gain some perspectives on their own strengths and resilience. My client demographic so far has only been with men or masculine identifying individuals.

I tend to work best with folks who have explored some self-development work (talk-therapy, yoga, meditation, plant medicines etc..) and feel ready to be with what is going on somatically. People who come to me often feel a sense of unworthiness, shame or confusion around their body, sexuality, or self-expression and desire a sense of closeness, intimacy and belonging with others. I often work with survivors of sexual violence and childhood sexual abuse . Sex-work, polyamory and kink affirming. I welcome people of all genders and sexual orientations. Currently offering sessions online and outdoors.

I specialize in Trauma, Chronic Stress, Anxiety, Burnout, Sexual Abuse / Assault and Developmental & Attachment trauma and childhood neglect.
Your body and mind communicate clearly when something has been overwhelming. So many experiences can knock you off kilter and make it hard to feel your genuine self. You have likely landed here because your symptoms have become intrusive. Anxiety, panic attacks and anger are hard to ignore but what about the more subtle signs? Strained relationships, feeling numb, avoidance, disconnection and irritability also have a huge impact in your life.

I have diverse clinical skills with a special focus on anxiety, depression, trauma, concussions and brain injuries, PTSD, and men's survivors of sexual abuse .
I work with individuals and couples who seek to improve their mental health and relationship. I work with individuals, who experienced trauma, struggling with anxiety, and/ or seeking meaning to life events. My unique life experience exposed me to different cultures and ways of living, which included the Middle East, Europe, and North America. I believe that relationships, mental health, and behaviors are better understood when body, mind, and context are examined simultaneously. I work with my clients to navigate through their experiences, including their spirituality, to create helpful meanings in their lives.

Trauma- Grief & Loss, Abuse and/or assault .
We are a a trauma-informed team of Clinical Counsellors, Art Therapists and other health practitioners, experienced in working with teens, youth and adults braving a range of mental health challenges. We offer Individual, Relationship, Group and Online Counselling. We hold an affirming, inclusive, non-pathologizing, culturally-safe, humility-focused and harm-reduction lens in my practice. I hold a Narrative Therapy approach and often blend it with art therapy. W have found that this way, even the people with awkward hide-and-seek relationships with their mental health make consistent progress, despite the resistance.

I primarily with folks in LGBTQIA2S+ communities, people who have experienced trauma, including sexual assault , abuse, death, and experiences of ongoing oppression, and those who are neurodivergent.
As LGBTQIA2S+ people, we are often navigating oppressive places and experiences. Often times, we are taught to squish, get rid of, silence, or hate certain parts of ourselves. I believe counselling can be a way to bravely choose to engage differently with ourselves and with each other - we can reclaim our right to feel curiosity towards and compassion for all of our parts. When we do this, we create magic, and we invite new possibilities for connection. I’m a Registered Social Worker, and I provide counselling from trauma-informed, collaborative, and anti-oppressive approaches.

As well, I have a strong background in working with people who have suffered and/or witnessed abuse, in particular male victims of sexual abuse , and I work with teens dealing with adolescent issues and elderly people in distress.
If you are suffering from grief, anxiety or are in the midst of marriage/partnership breakup, I can help. If you have suffered abuse of any kind, I can help you make sense of those experiences. Or, if you are simply weary of the world, I can listen to how you are feeling to help you find hope. I offer a comfortable, safe and relaxed atmosphere and maintain the highest standards of confidentiality. I will add that my life's experiences are what make my service to others genuine, integral and fulfilling. I look forward to meeting with you.

Some people seek my help to deal with current life, a significant loss, or change. For others, childhood and adult abuse or assault have had long-lasting effects on who they are/how they feel in the world. Finally, I am very aware of the need for ongoing training, supervision/consultation, self-care, support, and balance in my own life and I offer consultation for other clinicians as they seek these necessary foundations.

I work with issues such as dissatisfying relationships or dating trouble, healing after a breakup, anxiety and depression, body image and food issues, difficult friendships, decision making, burnout, sexual assault , abortion or pregnancy loss, boundary setting, bi-cultural identities, and spirituality.
I work specifically with women (teens and adults). My one-on-one approach offers deep emotional support and a safe space to explore your challenges and hopes. Many of my clients are successful and vibrant externally (professionals, students, mothers) but they face some deeper internal challenges. Perhaps it is hard to understand why this issue persists despite your ability to manage so well in other areas of your life. I will support you to live the life you envisioned for yourself, free from unnecessary emotional difficulties.

Sexual Abuse Counsellors
Child sexual abuse is the deliberate exposure of a minor child to sexual activity that the child cannot comprehend or consent to. This means a child is forced or talked into sex or sexual activities by another person. This behaviour includes acts such as inappropriate touching of a child's breasts or genitalia, someone exposing their genitalia to a child, fondling, oral-genital contact, genital and anal intercourse, as well as exhibitionism, voyeurism, and exposure to pornography.
