Psychosis Therapists in Vancouver, BC
When people talk about the challenges they’re facing, I often find myself saying:
“There’s counselling for that.”
Because there is!
For more than 30 years, I’ve worked in psychology and mental health, supporting individuals and couples through trauma, relationship struggles, anxiety, sexual concerns, burnout, and major life transitions. Over time, I’ve come to believe something deeply:
Most of us are incredibly resilient.
But sometimes we shouldn’t have to do it alone.
Here on Hornby Island, and working with clients throughout British Columbia, I offer counselling that is grounded, experienced, and deeply relational.

I have a special interest and training in supporting individuals facing challenges such as personality disorders, suicidal ideation, self-harming behaviors, psychiatric diagnoses like schizophrenia, and substance use issues.
I warmly welcome individuals ages 19 years and older who are hoping to connect with a counsellor who can push you out of your comfort zone. Research tells us that the most effective counsellor is the one you have the best rapport with; I work best with clients who like setting goals - no matter how big or small - and want to be challenged to grow (gently and with the utmost care, of course). I offer a structured approach with a clear treatment plan that we collaborate on together and treat as a living document as your needs grow and change throughout the course of therapy.

You’re exhausted from carrying things that feel too heavy to explain—trauma, anxiety, addiction, or patterns you can’t seem to break. You might look like you’re holding it together on the outside, but internally, it’s overwhelming. Therapy doesn’t have to stay stuck at talking about the problem—we can work through it. I work with individuals (7+) navigating trauma, PTSD, addiction, suicidal thoughts, anxiety, and body image issues. My approach is trauma-informed and grounded in modalities like EMDR, CBT, DBT, and ACT. Together, we don’t just build insight—we focus on helping your brain and body actually process the feelings/memories

There are many times in one person's life where one seeks support and information with resolving personal and psychological difficulties. Seeking counselling at this time will help break isolation and improve coping more effectively and quickly. Finding a good fit with someone is important to the success of the journey. I am trained in Feedback Informed Treatment (FIT) where a client directs the counselling relationship by the feedback they provide. I believe in the right FIT and relationship between client and counsellor to be of great importance in helping a client in counselling.

I see individuals, families, professionals, and employers who are feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, disconnected, or unsure how to move forward. Some are struggling with addiction, mental health challenges, trauma, relationship issues, grief, relapse, stress, or major life transitions, while others are simply looking for personal support, guidance, and healing. We meet people with compassion, honesty, and without judgment. Through counseling, coaching, intervention support, and family guidance, we help people reconnect with themselves, build healthier lives and relationships, and find hope, clarity, and lasting change.

Are you trying to make sense of your relationship, your brain, or the unexpected emotional shifts of midlife? My work focuses on couples therapy, supporting neurodivergent adults, and helping women navigate perimenopause. Many of the people I work with feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure how to move forward and are looking for both insight and practical change.
-
Many of the couples I work with feel stuck in the same arguments or painful patterns—having the same conversations over and over without feeling heard or understood. Together, we slow those moments down and look at what’s really happening underneath the conflict.

Trauma can reshape how we see ourselves and the world. I’m here to provide a judgment-free space where you can honor your story, process your experiences and begin to heal at your own pace. In nearly five years of working with individuals facing challenges—from mild to severe—I’ve come to deeply appreciate the richness of each person’s life journey. I recognize how early childhood experiences and ongoing life events shape who we are—sometimes building strength, other times complicating our path. My approach is client-centered and personalized, with the understanding that there is no one-size-fits-all strategy for healing and growth.

You may feel overwhelmed, burned out, or deeply self-critical, especially if you were late-diagnosed with ADHD or are exploring neurodivergence. Many clients I work with are tired of masking, pushing through, and feeling like they’re falling short in a world that doesn’t accommodate how their brain works. Therapy offers a supportive space to better understand yourself, develop self-compassion, and create strategies that feel sustainable and aligned.
