Have you found yourself feeling overwhelmed, spending your days anxious or depressed? Perhaps you've received unhelpful advice, read self-help books, or tried to power through. People are hard-wired for connection, and we heal through relationships. Therapy can be a safe place to develop connection, heal childhood wounds, rewire your nervous system, accept yourself, and experience more joy and confidence. I use what I've learned on my own healing journey, as well as from my professional experience, to help others develop a happier, more meaningful life and better relationships.

I truly believe that fit is one of the most important parts about therapy & getting started can be often be one of the toughest parts. I am Registered Social Worker (RSW) & Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) and have been working in various counselling roles over the past 10 years. I work from an intersectional feminist lens and notice the impact of gender, ableism, class, sexual orientation, race & socioeconomic status can have on mental health. I use a combination of approaches proven to be effective for trauma treatment including
IFS
, EMDR, AEDP and mindfulness-based approaches.
As a registered counsellor and a Certified Trauma Professional , I am deeply passionate about helping individuals who have experienced traumatic events or adverse childhood experiences. Trauma, abuse, neglect, and growing up with emotionally unavailable or emotionally immature caregivers can take a toll on our soul. Many of my clients bear the weight of these experiences, facing trauma-related symptoms such as depression, anxiety, anger, low self-esteem, and a pervasive feeling of numbness and emptiness. Many of my clients also feel exhausted by the constant negative patterns of thinking and behavior in their day to day lives.

I combine internal
family systems
, person-centred, and somatic experiencing to work with relationship problems, self-esteem issues, and trauma.
I am a curious listener and a therapeutic connector. My purpose as a relationship therapist is to help you establish a reconnection to your authentic self by creating meaning out of stuckness. We are ALWAYS in relation to ourselves, to others. I believe there is a space opened for you to explore that new found sense of meaning and growth. In my approach, I seek to deepen the lost sense of connection through empowerment, courage, and vulnerability.

The main modality that I lean into is Internal
Family Systems
(
IFS
) and Body-centred approaches.
I view the counselling space as an opportunity to re-remember what you already know. I come into the space with the belief that we are all born with everything we need. It is through trauma, adversity, oppression, systems of power and various other life-experiences that close the doors to our inner world of knowing. Just as our bodies are able to heal from physical wounds, I believe we are also capable of healing our emotional wounds when we are able to access the innate Self. Accessing Self energy can heal our more vulnerable & wounded parts. Holding space for you to turn your greatest wounds into your greatest gifts.

(

Are you feeling ready for a deeper layer of healing? I am a somatic soul-based therapist who approaches therapy and healing from an embodied, compassionate, empowering, trauma-informed, and holistic perspective. By taking a compassionate & non-pathologizing approach: You are not seen as being broken, flawed or needing to be fixed. We will explore your symptoms together (such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, people-pleasing, over-working, perfectionism, shame, chronic illness...) and discover their hidden messages, stories & wisdom. This will guide the way to deeper and more long-lasting healing/growth.

Life can feel incredibly painful when we are feeling disconnected, isolated, and ridden with distressing thoughts, memories and emotions. Together, we can make space for the parts of you needing to express that pain. Family Systems

Do you struggle with trauma, anxiety, stress, addictions or low mood? I can help. I have extensive experience working with trauma, addictions, low mood, self-esteem issues and anxiety in private practice and in a treatment setting. Therapeutically, I know how important it is to have a sense of connection, and a non-judgemental person to listen and understand in times of struggle, change and growth. Mental health is a spectrum and many of us go will go through periods where we need support. I invite clients to get curious about what is happening for them and to engage in the therapeutic process with self-compassion and an open mind .

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Counsellors
What is Internal Family Systems therapy?
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of talk therapy that focuses on sub-personalities, or “families,” within a person, which may be made up of wounded parts and unpleasant emotions like anger and shame. These sub-personalities can come into conflict with each other and with an individual’s core Self, leaving the person feeling detached from positive traits such as the “8 C’s” of confidence, calmness, creativity, clarity, curiosity, courage, compassion, and connectedness. By healing a patient’s wounded parts, a therapist aims to restore balance and bring on positive change.
How does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
An IFS therapist will work with a patient to identify their particular sub-personalities, recognize the emotions powering them, and release them. By doing so, the patient should become more able to address any underlying problems their sub-personalities may have been trying to protect them from. Ultimately, a patient discovers ways to manage internal and external conflicts on their own, through techniques such as relaxation exercises, journaling, and making charts depicting the relationships between their core Self and their distinct parts.
Does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
IFS therapy has been shown to help people address conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic, fears and phobias, trauma, and substance use disorders. Some research has also found that it can help individuals deal with symptoms of physical health conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, such as pain, everyday functioning, depressive feelings, and low self-compassion. There are some conditions for which IFS treatment, specifically discussions of one’s “parts,” may be less appropriate, such as schizophrenia or other states that involve psychosis or paranoia.
How long does Internal Family Systems therapy take?
As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for IFS therapy. After becoming comfortable with a therapist and the core concepts of IFS, some patients quickly make progress. While experiences vary, most will find that it is a relatively longer-term therapy, involving months and sometimes years of sessions.
