I offer Zoom sessions in the morning, 8 am to noon, and in-person sessions, 4-9 pm, Tuesday-Thursday.
For 35 years I have been helping people struggling with depression, anxiety, relationships, and meaning of life issues. My primary interest has always been in helping people more clearly see the true nature of the relationships they have with their self, others, and their world as they experience it. Failing to understand this interconnectedness amongst these relationships repeats suffering. I am not just trying to help people feel better, but become better, to live and enjoy more fully, recognizable both by them, and the people who matter in their lives. In the final analysis, you already have the answers. I help you find them.

I work in office and through a secure virtual platform.
Many of us have experienced the impacts of negative stories or beliefs about ourselves. These stories can serve to separate us from our preferred ways of living and being in the world. Have you had these types of experiences? Has this resulted in anxiety, depression, anger, low self-worth and/or despair or challenges with substance use? My work is focused on supporting you to renegotiate your relationship to these unhelpful stories. I am skilled at supporting people to connect with their values, and hopes and to develop a new and preferred picture of themselves.

Beginning counselling is an intimidating process and I congratulate you for making it this far! Good job! Counselling offers a space for growth, stabilization, recovery, healing, and connection. I believe that much of human suffering is the result of disconnection and loneliness. As humans, we require connection. When we do not have this or we fear our connection is under threat, we respond. In counselling, we can explore this response to better understand our patterns and why we often find ourselves stuck, isolated, and distraught.

I am excited to work with people to find meaning in the messiness. I value collaboration, compassion, curiosity and openness — and I support connection, community and expression. I bring non-judgement and a deep thoughtfulness to the more unpleasant parts of human experience, and I encourage coming into relationship with these aspects, and exploring ways to create a more meaningful, fulfilling life. In my one-on-one counselling, I support you in moving through the discomfort that comes with exploring your life’s challenges. Our work together will offer ways to explore what brings meaning to your life and human relationships.

I offer sessions in-person and online on Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays.
Suffering is an unavoidable part of the human experience. Yet, when you’re immersed in past or present struggles, it’s so natural to feel isolated, stuck, and unsure of how to move forward. The pain can become so overwhelming that it not only interferes with your ability to cope, but it also can rob you of your joy. I view counselling as a nurturing space for appreciating how you’ve supported yourself while also building a deeper sense of freedom, strength, and connection to what matters to you.

The human experience can be exhausting and confusing at times… “Can I just get a break!?” If you are reading this, it’s likely you may have reached a point of exhaustion and the logical brain keeps telling you “but, I don’t know why/how…” I’ve been there. The body holds inner stories that are trying to be told, but when the mind doesn’t know how to process them, they show up as anxiety, depression, and/or behaviors that directly impact our connection to ourselves and others.

I offer online sessions on Wednesdays, and both in-person and online sessions on Thursdays and Fridays :)
Struggling to trust others or repeating painful relationship patterns? I support adults in healing past relationship wounds, understanding and expressing their emotions, and developing a deeper understanding of themselves so they can build secure, fulfilling connections. What we resist tends to persist, which is why turning toward our feelings, rather than away from them, can be so helpful. Together, we’ll explore how past experiences shape your present patterns and emotions, helping you relate more authentically. Through my own healing journey, I’ve learned the importance of a welcoming, non-judgmental space to express yourself.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
