Zoë (she/her) understands that healing happens in relationship—within the safety of being truly seen, heard, and understood without judgment. Her practice is built on the foundation that when we feel genuinely witnessed, our nervous system can shift into a state that promotes deep healing, allowing us to reconnect with our inherent wisdom and resilience.
Drawing from a rich toolkit of evidence-based modalities—including AEDP, ISTP, ACT, IFS, EFT, somatic therapy, and couples work—Zoë’s approach remains fundamentally client-centred. She meets each person exactly where they are, fostering a collaborative therapeutic relationship.

15 years in full time practice, & 6 years as a peer counselling volunteer. A combined 21 years of experience. Since beginning in practice I have logged over 14000+ direct client hours. In that time I have helped a number of individuals, and couples overcome obstacles to their health and well-being. I offer a collaborative, psycho-educational, research based treatment strategy to clients whom are challenged in multiple areas of functioning. Therapeutic progress, change readiness are seem as dependant on a number of variables, and in my experience are extremely qualitative (individually dependant); so no 1 size fits all!

I integrate and draw from various therapeutic modalities such as mindfulness-based therapy, somatic therapy, Internal Family Systems, Narrative Therapy, EMDR, Solution-Focused Therapy, Imago Relationship Therapy, and Gottman Method Couples Therapy.
There was a time when I felt like I was moving through life slightly underwater, disconnected from myself and weighed down by something I couldn’t name. Over time, I realized my pain wasn’t only personal, but also shaped by the systems around me. We live in a world that often rewards disconnection, numbing, quick fixes, and performance over presence. As bell hooks says, “Rarely, if ever, are any of us healed in isolation. Healing is an act of communion.”
I'm here to walk alongside you in your unfolding: to help you remember love, worthiness, and belonging, and to access play and creativity again.

I have been in private practice for 20 years, and in the mental health field for almost 40 years. My practice draws self-referring, high-functioning adults. couples and families with addiction, anxiety, depression and attachment disorders affecting their lives beyond their historical, current or perceived ability of self-control. In couples, I usually begin individually to create safety and self-awareness, then re-convene targeting clear self-advocacy, expression and truthful communication. EMDR in the couple context can clear a lot of old trauma and wounded pattern-associations that mire us in destructive relational dynamics.

I focus on working with intense emotions, insecure attachment, acute and developmental trauma, nervous system healing, and neurodiversity. Part of therapy with me is practicing being in safe, secure relationship where your feedback and needs are valued & integrated into our work. I primarily work through a body-based somatic lens, with additional training in the worlds of sex therapy, relationships, and altered state integration. I have seen how connecting with and resourcing the body to process stuck emotions in a loving container leads to healing and relief.

You may be a high-functioning person who looks like she’s managing life, but inside feels overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in patterns that don’t make sense.
Many of my clients carry childhood or relational trauma, including mother wounds, that show up as anxiety, people-pleasing, difficulty with boundaries, or challenges in relationships. You may find yourself overthinking, shutting down, or repeating patterns you wish you could change.
You want to understand yourself more deeply, heal what still hurts, and feel more grounded, secure, and connected in your life and relationships.

Imago Counsellors
How does Imago therapy work?
Imago relationship therapy is a form of couples counseling meant to help partners address conflict, communication problems, and related issues. Imago sessions typically involve couples sitting facing each other and participating in guided conversations. Therapy will also involve exercises such as re-imagining one’s partner as a wounded child; re-romanticising a relationship through appreciation, surprises, and even gift-giving and restructuring frustrations by transforming complaints into requests. The ultimate goal is to re-envision the relationship as a source of safety and happiness.
What is the Imago method?
A core technique of Imago therapy is the Imago dialogue, in which partners learn to avoid hurtful statements and establish ways to interact based on each having equal space and power. In the dialogue, partners take turns as the “sender,” who shares their thoughts, and the “receiver.” The receiver is asked to “mirror,” or paraphrase, what their partner has said, without response or rebuttal, and then validate their statements, acknowledging understanding even if they do not personally agree with it. Finally, the receiver displays empathy by stating what they imagine the other is feeling, and showing appreciation for it.
How long does Imago therapy take?
As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for Imago therapy. After becoming comfortable with a therapist and the core techniques of Imago coaching, some couples quickly make progress, but most should expect sessions to extend for months, encompassing at least 12 to 20 sessions, along with extensive “homework” from their therapist.
Does Imago therapy work?
There is limited empirical evidence to support the benefits of Imago therapy, but some smaller studies suggest that it does help couples, at least in the short-term. A 2017 study found that marital satisfaction increased significantly after couples completed 12 sessions of Imago therapy, and remained higher for some time after that, but did not always result in “complete recovery.” Other studies found greater empathy and fewer feelings of relationship burnout in couples after therapy. Some research suggests that Imago therapy can aid individuals as well as couples; people with ADHD in particular may benefit from the development of communication, self-control, and listening skills that form the basis of the technique.
