Beginning counselling is an intimidating process and I congratulate you for making it this far! Good job! Counselling offers a space for growth, stabilization, recovery, healing, and connection. I believe that much of human suffering is the result of disconnection and loneliness. As humans, we require connection. When we do not have this or we fear our connection is under threat, we respond. In counselling, we can explore this response to better understand our patterns and why we often find ourselves stuck, isolated, and distraught.

Anxiety? Been there. Depression...been there too. Big decisions, divorce, relationship ambivalence (staying or going), lostness...all roads I've traveled along and now I'm here - with the academic and professional training - to support you through your own growth.
Our inner lives can feel complex and confusing - getting support makes sense! With support you can begin to relax into a more integrated nervous system when facing life's challenges which ultimately allows you to feel "MORE like you". Healing is integration as opposed to feeling pulled into emotion, reaction, and over identification with criticism and others opinions.

We are living in extremely challenging times - witnessing the rise of fascism, genocide, war, displacement, & climate change. For BIPOC, LGBTQIA2S+, women, people with mental health issues, and others of marginalized identities, it is exhausting to exist in this colonial & capitalist world. These systems were not built for us. They constantly extract from us and undermine our worth. It is important to know that you matter and deserve to be heard in a safe space that does not blame you for not doing or being enough. I support people of marginalized identities & allies to process their grief, honour their rage, and heal their wounds.

Many of us have experienced the impacts of negative stories or beliefs about ourselves. These stories can serve to separate us from our preferred ways of living and being in the world.
Have you had these types of experiences? Has this resulted in anxiety, depression, anger, low self-worth and/or despair or challenges with substance use?
My work is focused on supporting you to renegotiate your relationship to these unhelpful stories. I am skilled at supporting people to connect with their values, and hopes and to develop a new and preferred picture of themselves.
