My approach is guided by the understanding that we, as people, are a walking mosaic of our lived experiences and those we were denied. Whether your area of concern be surrounding mental health challenges, exploring the many parts of your identity that make you who you are, processing traumatic moments, recognizing and learning from intergenerational patterns, together we will journey towards understanding, and moving forward. I bring a direct, yet gentle, approach to my work as a counsellor that focuses on the “roots” of issues as opposed to the branches that extend from them.

Are you caught in a frustrating loop of misunderstandings? Perhaps intense emotional reactions are creating distance, or you're navigating the complexities of a neurodiverse relationship. Alternatively, seeking individual or couples support with managing emotional dysregulation or moving through a world not built for your neurodivergent brain may have left you feeling exhausted and burnt out. When your relationship is unsteady or your nervous system is overwhelmed, it impacts everything. You might feel misunderstood, isolated, or stuck in painful cycles. Your experiences are valid, and you don't have to figure this out alone.

When I think about the work that I do with folks, I see clients who are on the precipice of a breakthrough. Transitions, heavy adjustments, longing, desire for change are a few issues that come to mind. They are often grappling with matters of identity which typically clash with another part of themselves they discovered or perhaps buried. They are attempting to reconcile what has happened to them. Usually, they have been on this search for some time and need a space in which they can learn, unlearn, and relearn. Other times, it is a space to acknowledge and name the pain. They want freedom to express themselves authentically.

The quality of our relationships with ourselves and our loved ones has a profound influence on our lives. Healthy relationships are more vital for our physical, emotional, and mental health than the successes we believe will make us wealthy and admired. Developing fulfilling relationships, first with ourselves and then with others, is essential to thrive at home, at work, and in the communities we live in. It's not easy, but you can free yourself from cycles of ineffective patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving. You can have the relationship you've always wanted with yourself and those who matter to you by living intentionally.

Hi, I’m Sandy Kirkwood, the founder of Integrate Counselling. I’m passionate about counselling because I know that with the right therapist at the right moment in your life, it can be both helpful and life changing. I know this because, over the years, I have witnessed so many clients move through their struggles to gain a deeper understanding of who they are and what they truly want. I have gathered this particular team of therapists together because I know how they work with clients. They have been either close colleagues of mine or past supervisees. I have witnessed their warmth, wisdom and effectiveness in working with clients.

You may be carrying the weight of anxiety, depression, or a deep sense of not quite belonging. Maybe you've moved across the world, navigated life between cultures, or found yourself questioning who you are and where you fit. Perhaps past experiences have left you feeling stuck, disconnected, or unsure of how to move forward. You're not looking for quick fixes. You want to understand yourself more deeply, heal what's been holding you back, and build a life that feels genuinely yours. If any of this resonates, you're not alone and you don't have to figure it out by yourself.

Counselling is available in both English and Tagalog ( Filipino).
Those who work with me are ones who look fine on the outside but are quietly struggling. They come to me carrying anxiety, burnout, trauma, or that aching sense of not quite belonging...often after years of putting everyone else first. Many have never felt fully seen. In our work together, I offer a space that is warm, culturally-informed, and free of judgment. Using trauma-informed, heart-centred approaches, we build real insight, practical tools, and a stronger sense of self...so you can feel grounded and fully YOU again.

As a first generation Filipino person, I bring warmth, compassion, and a deep respect for the human experience into this work.
Your story is welcome here in all its complexity. My approach is grounded in meeting you where you are. Some days that might look like making space for grief, uncertainty, or emotional heaviness. Other days, it might mean noticing moments of relief, humour, or hope. Both can exist at the same time.

Nowadays, we are living in a world that is so advanced yet in many ways leave us feeling stressed and inadequate. if you are struggling with Anxiety, Depression, Difficult relationships, Career Dissatisfaction, Self Limiting Habits and Self Sabotage, you are not alone. Often times these issues show up in our experiences as Fear, Anger, Resentment, Sadness, Weight Gain, Addictive Habits, Fatigue, Sleepiness or Sleeplessness, Headaches, Phobias and many more. Where are you right now? Are you tired of seeking? Change can be paralyzing but the only way to get to the direction you want is to take that first step in spite of the fear.
