Are you feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of who you are in the midst of pregnancy or new parenthood? This season of life is often filled with big emotions, identity shifts, and unspoken pressure to "keep it all together." You might be experiencing anxiety, intrusive thoughts, relationship strain, or a sense of grief for the version of yourself you used to know. You may be carrying the impact of past trauma, sometimes resurfacing during early parenthood or showing up as panic, numbness, shame, or relationship struggles. Whatever challenges you’re experiencing, you don’t have to navigate them on your own.

Hi, I’m Jaclyn. I’m a registered social worker and somatic therapist with a deep commitment to supporting people through life’s most challenging and transformative moments. I’m also a mom of two, a dog lover, a partner, sister, daughter, and friend – roles that shape how I show up in this work with empathy and humility. My approach is relational and collaborative, which means I see therapy as a shared process. I deeply value the wisdom and lived experience you bring, and I aim to create a space where you feel seen, heard, and supported – exactly as you are.

I have a deep curiosity about the human experience and a strong belief in the healing power of safe, trusting relationships. We all have an innate capacity to connect more to ourselves and others, and counselling can be a place to explore how to do this. With warmth and curiosity, I support individuals 12+ with concerns related to anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, communication, religious trauma, identity exploration (including gender and sexuality), and the challenges of being a teenager. In additon to individual counselling, I also offer clinical consultation for counselling students currently in their master’s.

When life's stressors outpace our ability to cope, it can be difficult to get "unstuck". I support clients in trusting their own wisdom, to find the balance between healthy relationships and self-fulfillment. Together, we'll explore answers to the questions: How does my past pain contribute to current patterns of suffering? What can I do about it now?

I specialize in counselling for the LGBTQ+ community, neurodivergent people, and those with BPD - often self-identified oddballs, weirdos, and outsiders with big feelings. I love working with highly sensitive people; those who have been told they are "too much" and experience the world with intensity. Many of my clients struggle with feeling empty, numb, and disconnected one minute, and in excruciating emotional pain the next, as if they're on a rollercoaster that they can't get off and no one around them understands. It can be incredibly isolating, leaving them feeling disconnected from community and struggling in relationships.

Are you feeling burned out from carrying too much for too long? You might feel disconnected from yourself after trauma, challenging relationships, or ongoing stress, and feel like continuing the same way isn’t possible. I know how exhausting and heavy that can feel, I’ve been there too. Many people I work with want more than just talking about the past—they’re looking to feel present, grounded, and like themselves again. My approach balances trauma-informed emotional work with practical tools, supporting you to experience life with more presence, richness, and ease.

Many things in life are outside our control, and the pain, loss, and struggles we carry can feel heavy and overwhelming. Many of us carry our hurts, traumas, and struggles without knowing how to set them down. In counselling, I offer a space where your story—both the wounds and the resilience—can be held with care and you don’t have to hold them alone. Together, we will explore how past experiences shape your present, and how compassion, awareness, and connection can bring clarity and healing to your relationship with yourself and others.

Drawing from various therapeutic modalities such as Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Emotionally Focused Therapy ( EFT), mindfulness practices and depth psychology, I employ a holistic approach to delve into the root causes of my clients' struggles.
I use an exploratory approach aimed at understanding underlying emotions and recurring patterns, catering to clients dealing with complex emotional challenges. My focus lies in supporting clients who are experiencing grief, identity-based traumas, depression, and anxiety, helping them gain a holistic understanding and management of these emotions. I also work with clients navigating relationship difficulties and exploring issues related to race and culture. Together, we slow things down and explore emotional patterns with curiosity and care, helping you develop a deeper understanding of yourself and your experiences.

I work with queer and trans couples & individuals who have spent their lives feeling like too much or not enough. That feeling has roots – in relationships, in identity, in addictions, in shame that was never yours to carry. I'm here to help you untangle those roots. Maybe you already tried therapy that didn't quite fit. Maybe you spent a lot of time trying to explain yourself, your identity, your relationship structure, or how it feels to be part of the LGBTQ+ community in the current political climate, but still felt unseen. Or maybe you're coming to therapy for the first time and looking for a queer therapist who just gets it.

Life is full of both joy and sorrow, and it is often through our deepest connections that we experience the most profound emotions. Dr. Colin Murray Parkes once said, “The pain of grief is just as much a part of life as the joy of love; it is, perhaps, the price we pay for love, the cost of commitment.” I believe that true healing comes from acknowledging and exploring the full range of human emotions, from joy to grief.

Grief / Loss and Trauma leave us feeling completely overwhelmed, anxious, feeling like no one else can understand what we are going through and often utterly alone. Sometimes just trying to get through the day feels impossible and we can't even think straight. Sometimes we know that our behaviours today are linked to the terrible thing that has happened but we aren't sure what to do about it. I see individuals who are looking for relief. They are looking for someone to help support them as they regain their footing, develop strategies to manage the anxiety and reprocess the loss and trauma they have experienced in a safe way.

Most people who reach out are not broken. They are carrying more than they were ever shown how to hold. Something feels off in a relationship, in themselves, or in the distance between who they are and how they are living. They may not have words for it yet. They just know that what they have been doing is no longer working. They are ready to slow down, listen more carefully to what is underneath, and find a way forward that feels honest and sustainable.

"Problems" in our lives often try to lead us to focus solely on resolving or avoiding them at all cost. In both cases, we are forced to sacrifice other parts of ourselves as a result. However, the more we sacrifice, the more "problems" take up of our space and time, leading us to feel overwhelmed and trapped. Despite the pressure to immediately "fix" things, reconnecting instead with our values, core beliefs, needs and aspirations can help create alternatives to problem-saturated narratives and, ultimately, can lead us towards solutions.
