I utilize interventions and directives based on art therapy, meditation, mindfulness and harm reduction.
I orient my counselling approach based on the client's needs. I am happy to be offering therapy to a diverse range of people. I especially love working with young adults, youth, international students, artists, creatives, and LGBTQ2Splus individuals. I work with anyone struggling with depression, anxiety, life transitions, PTSD, substance use, grief, and loss. I am also open to working with pet owners who are experiencing grief related to the loss/death of their fur baby.

I use a mix of modalities: talk therapy, EMDR, IFS and art therapy.
You may be used to holding a lot on your own. On the outside things can look functional, but internally there may be overthinking, self-doubt, or a sense of disconnection from yourself. Many of the people I work with are neurodivergent, queer, or bicultural, and are navigating the impact of emotionally unavailable or inconsistent relationships. They often come to therapy wanting deeper clarity, healthier boundaries, and more ease in how they relate to themselves and others.

I have taken extensive training in Narrative Therapy paired with certificates in CBT, ACT, Play and Art Therapy.
Hi, I'm Carmella! I have been supporting the inner strength and resiliency of people, since 2012, when I first began my journey as a mental health professional. I believe we are shaped and driven by our stories and the stories others have about us.  I am interested in hearing where life has taken you and what you have learned along the way.  I work in collaboration with you to understand these stories but I am also curious to find out which path you are hoping to take next.  The therapeutic process is client-centred and strength-based.

Welcome! I'm Jessie. A little bit about me is that I immigrated to Canada when I was 5, and grew up across a mix of cities. I was also raised in a multi-faith household. In my own communities, I’ve seen the impact of generations of trauma and low mental health support. It’s not easy trying to navigate everything all at once: your environment, your people, yourself.

Connection and understanding is key. Feeling like we can talk freely and understand each other is what it´s all about. Building trust and clarity guides our progress and paves the way so our efforts can lead us forward to the results we desire in our lives. In that context, professional techniques are like stepping stones and building blocks that help us along the way, particularly when we need it most. If you need support, don´t hesitate to reach out. Your needs and goals are an important part of who you are, and what your journey is. I will be honoured to offer all the support I can.

Hello, I'm Sarah, a registered art therapist - welcome!
Art therapy is a combination of the healing of therapy and the expressiveness of the arts. Art is a powerful emotive and expressive tool, and when done with a qualified art therapist, the potential for healing can be quite significant.

We work with individuals who may appear high-functioning on the outside, yet feels disconnected, overwhelmed, or internally conflicted on the inside. They may be struggling with anxiety, depression, burnout, relational patterns, emotional reactivity or numbness, identity confusion, or the long-term effects of developmental or relational trauma. Often, they’ve already tried to “think their way out” of their struggles. They understand themselves intellectually, but still feel stuck in their body, nervous system, or relationships. They may feel exhausted from holding it together, people-pleasing, or over-functioning.

If you’re feeling stuck in painful patterns, weighed down by anxiety, grief, or past trauma, or struggling to connect in your relationships, you’re not broken—you’re human. Many of the people we work with at Lotus Therapy & Counselling Centre feel like they’re carrying emotions too big to hold alone. They’ve spent years trying to push through, make sense of it all, or just "be strong," only to find themselves exhausted, disconnected, or unsure of how to move forward. We go beyond traditional talk therapy to tackle the root causes of your struggles, not just the symptoms.

While my Master's Degree in Creative Arts Therapies focused on Drama Therapy, the Concordia Creative Art Therapies Department did afford me the opportunity to learn from experienced, art, music, dance, and play therapists.
I have experience working with children, teens and young adults who are dealing with social and emotional issues, while striving to strengthen their internal locus of control. Outside of private practice I work as an addiction counsellor in the Vancouver Downtown Eastside. Through this work, I have developed an appreciation that mental health challenges can be exacerbated by both internal and external factors, such as past trauma and poverty.
