Some concerns I work with are anxiety, depression, burnout, difficult family dynamics, cultural identity, and racialized trauma.
In my practice I work to help you feel grounded in yourself, attuned to your needs, and equipped to shift behaviours that are no longer serving you, so you can meaningful changes for yourself. Together we will sort out what you think would be most helpful to you, while I hold space for the emotions and circumstances surrounding what's happening for you. Clients have shared that after conversation they feel lighter, less alone, and have tools to cope when times feel unmanageable. My aim is to support you in a way that you find helpful, and to hold an inclusive space for you where you feel safe enough to be seen and heard.

I am an existential therapist which means I am listening in particular for the ways you may be struggling with meaning-making in your life and with issues related to grief, loss and overwhelm. I work from an attachment-based & psychoanalytic framework. These can feel like loaded terms, but often this means we will be discussing ways early relationships - both attachment and mis-attunements (experiences of neglect or trauma) affect your current ability to relate. Sessions will feel conversational and will often involve humor despite the heavy content woven in. I will ask questions to help you recognize themes in your experience.

The clients I work with are often navigating life transitions, role changes, or shifts in identity, seeking to address the anxiety, malaise, and discontent that accompany these changes.
I help clients navigate life transitions, trauma, and existential questions by integrating CBT, emotion-focused, psychodynamic, and EMDR approaches. I create a supportive yet challenging environment, encouraging accountability. Clients often say I don’t come across as "therapisty." I offer advice when needed, and clients value my candid, relaxed approach.

Maybe it shows up as anxiety, depression, a harsh inner critic, or relationship patterns that keep repeating.
My approach is rooted in the belief that you are the expert of your own life. I bring curiosity, compassion, and evidence-based practices (ACT, EFT, CBT, Mindfulness, Somatics, Attachment work) to support growth. Together, we will honour the mind–body connection, regulate the nervous system, and cultivate resilience, authenticity, and self-acceptance.

You're here because something isn't working. Relationships feel stuck in the same patterns. You've done therapy before and understand your past, but you're still struggling with the same things. You intellectualize everything, which has become its own trap. You disconnect from what you actually feel or want, struggle to stay present, lose yourself in relationships or can't let anyone in. Your nervous system runs either jacked up or shut down, rarely in between. You're tired of surface fixes and ready to shift the core patterns creating your symptoms, not just manage them.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioural therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioural Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
