I have a passion for working with individuals who are struggling to stay on top of their emotional responses. This can be due to so many factors from the state of our world, the result of high anxiety, an overactive stress response, trauma and post traumatic stress disorder, conflict in relationships, or burnout. We all experience times when our usual coping strategies are no longer enough and we are in distress. Our relationships suffer, our work suffers and our families suffer.

I am passionate about identity exploration, including gender, sexuality, neurodivergence, and racial identities, grief & trauma processing, life transitions, relationship difficulties, and communication styles.
As a therapist, and human in general, I am passionate about creating space for the stories and emotions that are so often pushed away, hidden from view, and disavowed. I believe that to be seen, heard, and accepted in these tender places can be a profoundly healing experience, even (and especially) when there is "nothing to do about it," other than bear witness and grieve. An important piece of this process is moving towards a way of being that centers less around achieving, perfecting and “doing” and much more around “being.” Being present, being messy, being perfectly imperfect and ok with slow processes and uncertainties.

We were raised to push through and ignore our feelings. It worked for a while but now it feels heavy. You might be snapping more than you want to, shutting down, or keeping everything to yourself. Maybe you feel undervalued and unseen in your relationship. Maybe you are numbing with alcohol, porn, food, work, or your phone. You might feel lonely in your own house, even when you are surrounded by people. You may be working hard, doing everything you can, and still feeling like you are not good enough or not getting the reward you hoped for. It can feel like you are losing parts of yourself along the way.

I have ample experience supporting folx through life transitions, relationship challenges, grief and loss, and a passion for neurodivergence, 2SLGBTQ+ families, and couples.

I am able to motivate those who feel stuck or unmotivated! By recognizing the impacts of experiences, we explore depths to find healing.

People often come to therapy with hopes of feeling happier and more fulfilled, yet the process of change can be frightening and uncomfortable. I want my clients to feel they are in the driver's seat, with access to the brake and gas. I am the passenger with the road map. I will guide their healing journey but they choose the direction and pace.
I truly believe the only thing more frightening than 'change' is the status quo. Why settle? You deserve more!

Many people carry wounds that others cannot see. Trauma, domestic violence, repeated stress, and painful relationship experiences can leave you feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from the life you hoped for. I work with individuals navigating the effects of trauma, including first responders and others who have faced repeated exposure to difficult events. Together, we focus on developing practical tools to calm the nervous system, manage overwhelming thoughts and emotions, and rebuild a sense of stability, meaning, and direction.

What does neurodivergent mean?
Neurodivergent is a broad term used to describe people whose brains process, learn, or respond to information in ways that differ from what is considered “typical.” Neurodivergence can include autism, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), dyslexia, Tourette syndrome, and other forms of neurological difference. The term comes from the idea of neurodiversity, which recognizes that differences in brain function are a natural part of human variation. Rather than viewing neurodivergence only through the lens of neurological disorders, this perspective acknowledges that neurodivergent people may experience both strengths and challenges. For example, a person may be very creative and intelligent, while also needing support with sensory sensitivity or learning differences.
What issues do neurodivergent people commonly bring to therapy?
Neurodivergent people often seek therapy for many of the same reasons as anyone else, including anxiety, depression, stress, relationship concerns, or major life transitions. They may also want support with challenges specifically related to neurodivergence; for example, therapy may help with executive functioning, social communication, sensory sensitivity, school/learning stress, or the experience of feeling misunderstood in society. Therapists can also help individuals and families diagnose conditions, as well as distinguish regular challenges associated with childhood and/or adolescence from more enduring conditions. When needed, a therapist may also provide referrals to additional specialists, such as occupational therapists or psychiatrists who can prescribe psychiatric medication.
What therapeutic approaches work well for neurodivergent clients?
Therapy for neurodivergent clients is often most helpful when it is flexible and affirming. Rather than expecting every client to fit one standard model of therapy, neurodivergent-affirming therapists may adapt sessions to each person’s needs and therapy goals. Often, this includes visual aids, movement breaks, or other therapy supports. Common structured therapeutic approaches like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) can be useful for some neurodivergent clients, but the approach may need to be modified to avoid feeling overly rigid or focused on changing traits that are part of a person’s natural neurodivergence. Other approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness-based approaches, may also be helpful depending on the client’s needs.
Who is included in Psychology Today's directory of neurodivergent therapists?
Psychology Today’s directory of neurodivergent therapists includes professionals who self-identify as neurodivergent, as well as therapists who describe their work as neurodivergent-affirming or who specialise in areas such as ADHD, autism, learning differences, or sensory processing concerns. When reviewing a therapist’s profile, look at their bio, listed specialties, treatment approach, and experience working with neurodivergent clients. You may also want to consider whether they offer supports that matter to you, such as online therapy, accessible office space, or familiarity with specific concerns like anxiety, depression, or trauma.
