I support clients in developing emotional awareness and regulation through a deeply attuned, emotion-informed approach that weaves together relational therapy, person-centred work, and somatic awareness.
Do you ever feel overwhelmed by the pressure to hold everything together? Many women come to therapy feeling exhausted by self-criticism, anxiety, depression, body image concerns, or the weight of trying to meet everyone’s expectations. If this is where you find yourself, I want you to know you’re not alone — and you don’t have to navigate it by yourself.
I offer a warm, compassionate space where you can explore your experiences without judgment and begin to understand yourself in deeper, more empowering ways. Together, we look at the patterns, relationships, and inner narratives that shape your daily life.

"Life has many ways of testing a person's will, either by having nothing happen at all or by having everything happen all at once.” ― Paulo Coelho. We have the ability as humans to overcome adversity, trauma and life altering stressors. You may clearly know what is bothering you or it may be deep in your unconscious, regardless, there needs to be a feeling. Whether the feeling is the desire for change or the awareness that you need help; it is the first step in your healing. The goal is to process the feelings that hold you back, thus freeing up space for positive memories, healthy coping, and self compassion.

My approach is relational, trauma-informed and somatic.
If your child or teen is struggling with anxiety, grief, or trauma, you may feel unsure how to best support them. Therapy can give your child a healing space to process their feelings, develop coping skills, and heal from trauma, while also giving you tools to feel more confident in guiding them.
You may find yourself needing care, too. If you are a parent carrying the weight of your own anxiety, past trauma, or grief, I offer a compassionate space where your story is heard and your strengths are nurtured. Whether you’re seeking counselling for your child or yourself, we can work together toward greater wellbeing and resilience.

Welcome! It takes courage and strength to reach out for support. Maybe you're here because you need someone to talk to you, or just need someone to listen. Or, maybe you're here because there are parts of you that are getting in the way of the life you envisioned for yourself. Trauma is very good at keeping you in the past, and can stop you from recognizing who you are right now and who you might want to become in the future. Together, let's re-create the story trauma constructed about you, and integrate a storyline that is meaningful and empowering.

My approach draws from somatic attachment, attachment theory, interpersonal neurobiology and eye-movement desensitization reprocessing (EMDR).
Our past experiences impact us in ways we may not even realize. Our nervous system jumps in to protect us in ways that it has helped us survive in the past (this could look like feeling foggy, anxious, depressed or numb). This often prevents us from operating how we wish to. Working to reconnect the body with the mind to our present, adult self can help resolve this disconnection. I believe that we all deserve to experience connection, empathy, attunement and safety and that this is often the missing piece.

Somatic Counsellors
How does somatic therapy work?
Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.
Is EMDR a somatic therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.
Is somatic therapy evidence-based?
Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.
What is somatic trauma therapy?
Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
