Welcome, and thank you for taking this brave step toward healing. My practice is rooted in helping you rebuild confidence, reclaim agency, and move toward self-actualization in ways that align with your values. It can be difficult to see a clear path from where you are to where you want to be—especially when you’ve been shaped by coercion, abuse, or burnout. I believe real change grows from honest, grounded moments—not from dramatic shifts, but from steady, compassionate steps.

Art Therapy is widely used as an auxiliary treatment for depression, illness and chronic pain, addiction and trauma. Children and Youth particularly respond well to Art Therapy as it offers a less confrontational approach to counselling . I have experience working with children and youth with various challenges stemming from parental separation, anxiety disorders, grief and loss and especially difficulties with social inclusion and feeling outcasted.

I offer in person services in Surrey, Langley & Tri-Cities.
I work with people who feel lost, unseen, or silenced — especially those who’ve grown up in cultures where therapy is taboo or shameful. You may have been told to just “be strong” or “pray it away,” but you're still carrying emotional pain. You want relief, clarity, and connection — not judgment. My practice is welcoming, inclusive, and culturally responsive. I offer a space where you don’t have to explain your pain to be understood. You’re not alone, and healing is possible.

Offering in person sessions, video sessions and phone sessions at the moment.
My practice has developed to focus on working with individuals in middle to late adulthood who are experiencing life transitions relating to personal, social and work challenges. For example, separation or divorce, isolation and loneliness, or burnout, stress and lack of motivation. These concerns are often multi-layered, historical and rooted in experiences and how we communicate. This is why I work with individuals and couples in a relational approach. Exploring from this lens allows me to offer a combination of interventions that can be short term and focused or longer to take the time to explore how your concerns at your pace.

In-person in Surrey, online across British Columbia.
I believe gaining insight is vital, but it often isn't enough to create real change. Many people understand their patterns — they know where the anxiety comes from, where the anger started — and they're still stuck. That gap between knowing and shifting is where this work lives. It can be especially hard to ask for help when everyone around you relies on you as their anchor. I work with people carrying anxiety, trauma, addictions, self-esteem concerns, anger, relationship challenges, intrusive thoughts, and more — meeting you where you are, and working towards a path that truly feels like yours.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
