I provide counselling services for adults and couples .
My name is Rejoe Mohan and I am the Co-Founder of Mind Always Matters. It can be a challenge to reach out for mental health assistance when we are feeling anxious, distressed or depressed. I really appreciate you for looking out for assistance. That itself, shows the inner strength you have. I did my first Masters in Psychology from India and there for 3 years. I then moved to Canada and did my second Masters in Counselling Psychology. My goal is to provide a safe and welcoming space for you, so that we could explore and heal from the past trauma and pain that might have impacted you and to live a meaningful life in the moment.

I am a registered therapeutic counsellor with a general practice in Surrey, BC dedicated to working with individuals and couples to help create change that positively impacts their life.
The Power of Perception... The greatest area of growth my clients experience from our work together is the discovery that their problems are not what they thought they were. I'll help you move from a place of hopelessness, frustration and fear to understanding and peace. Struggle is a "threshold" of transition and can be your power spot. Although this can be difficult, discomfort acts as a motivator to create change. That is its job. You are at a place where all the possibilities and richness of life are yours to be found. I can help you take your next steps.

Since the relationship with your counsellor is so important, we offer a quick questionnaire to pair you with the best counsellor for you and a free 15-minute phone consultation with them to help you make this important decision.
There are things going on in your life that are a bit out of your wheelhouse to manage right now. Whether it's anxiety, overwhelm, change or wondering who you actually are, you know that you need help. And yet...you're supposed to be the strong one...how would the people in your life react if they knew that you need help too? Which brings up another thing...you're tired of giving to everyone else. You've noticed that you just end up feeling empty and resentful when you do this. It's time to change.

Bringing in curiosity and compassion to the painful patterns that seem to repeat in life is a great first step in building a new relationship with yourself, where you become your own ally.
If you are feeling lost, disconnected or uncertain about life, you will find a safe space with me to explore your challenges in life with a supportive, empathic listener. When life gets challenging, many resort to using unhealthy coping strategies that can get you stuck; by getting curious about the stuck-ness together, we can work as a team to untangle the knots and shift back into your natural state of wholeness. If you have lost your centre, or feel unbalanced by the many demands of life you will benefit from counselling, as I will aim to help you return to your core Self and find passion and purpose in life.

Couples Counselling

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
