Whether you're struggling with anxiety, burnout, overwhelm, past trauma, relationships, or other concerns, I am here to support you with warmth and steadiness.
I've noticed that we often have certain life themes, times where we get triggered and feel hurt or upset. I help clients explore these wounds and heal the patterns so they become sources of growth and self-awareness. I have assisted many clients in getting to the point where their themes and past wounds become their friends and gifts, not their triggers.

I've helped clients make profound and deep transformations to their self-esteem, relationship, and communication issues during all of life's transitions.
I offer evidence-based counselling solutions for issues of self-esteem, shame, depression, and anxiety. I have training in several counselling modalities but mainly practice in evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR).

We are skilled in working with trauma, grief, anxiety, ADHD, chronic pain, relationships and so much more.
Hi, I’m Sandy Kirkwood, the founder of Integrate Counselling. I’m passionate about counselling because I know that with the right therapist at the right moment in your life, it can be both helpful and life changing. I know this because, over the years, I have witnessed so many clients move through their struggles to gain a deeper understanding of who they are and what they truly want. I have gathered this particular team of therapists together because I know how they work with clients. They have been either close colleagues of mine or past supervisees. I have witnessed their warmth, wisdom and effectiveness in working with clients.

I am primarily focused in Expressive Arts Therapy and Sex Therapy with regards to self esteem, gender exploration and affirming practices, life-stage development, anxiety, depression, intimacy/ relationship difficulties, relationship communication and boundary building, monogamy & non-monogamy.
I am a Queer neuro-divergent counsellor working on the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish and TsleiI-Waututh peoples. I endeavour to work collaboratively, inter-sectionally and conscious of my clients lived experience and world view. I believe learning to become an authentic person is the ongoing journey we all undergo and with counselling, it can be a bit easier. I believe strongly in meeting an individual where they are presently and working alongside their own desires for change and growth.

I use a gentle, intuitive approach to support clients through challenging life experiences. My warm, engaging style helps people feel at ease. As an art therapist, I invite clients—if they wish—to explore art materials as an optional way to deepen self-understanding. Use of art in sessions is always voluntary.
