Trauma, Narcissitic Abuse, Addiction, Neurodivergency, Grief & Loss, Relationship Challenges, or Major Life Transitions can leave you feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or disconnected from yourself. You may feel stuck repeating the same patterns without understanding why. With 16 years of experience in mental health and addictions, I help adults heal from trauma, navigate anxiety, recover from addiction, strengthen relationships, and build practical tools for lasting change.

Life has a way of challenging us in ways that can stop even the strongest of us in our tracks. Increased stress, sudden life changes, anxiety, unresolved trauma.... many things can trigger disruptive behaviours and emotions that throw us off-base, damage our health and relationships, or simply hold us back. If your mental or emotional well-being, your relationships with others or with yourself, or your ability to deal with problems is out of balance – whatever the issue or stumbling block, a safe therapeutic relationship can help you return to, or develop a greater sense of ease and well-being.

You may be struggling with codependency, avoidance, or trauma related symptoms that are inhibiting your ability to connect.
In our work we will explore the wisdom of your mind and the power of your body. We often disconnect from our bodies due to a lack of safety and/or self-trust. I would like to hold the space for you to regain these important aspects of what it means to be human. In the therapeutic process, I believe you are the expert and I am the guide.

My therapy approach is relational and collaborative. Feeling comfortable and connected is when therapy is most effective. My goal is to support you to understand yourself and what you need; to come back home to yourself. I tend to work with folks who aren’t feeling satisfied with their quality of life. This may show up as perfectionism, lack of motivation, hyper-independence, people pleasing tendencies, imposter syndrome etc. I have experience working in healthcare, not for profit, and private settings.

I work with individuals who feel disconnected from themselves due to chronic stress, trauma, or long-standing patterns of self-protection. This can show up as burnout, overwhelm, or numbness, even while functioning well outwardly. Therapy is a space to slow down and tune into your inner experience— integrating the mind, body, and nervous system to support meaning-making, self-discovery, and the uncovering of your inner wisdom. This deeper connection and understanding of self also helps to cultivate healthier, more meaningful relationships with others.

Being human is weird and messy. Maybe you feel stuck in self-doubt, anxiety, depression, or relationship struggles, wondering, why do I keep doing this? Maybe intimacy feels complicated, trauma keeps showing up in ways you don’t expect, or you’re just trying to figure out who you are and what you actually need. You want deeper self-trust, better emotional regulation, and connections that don’t feel like a rollercoaster. Most of all, you want to feel like you, without the weight of old patterns holding you back.

So... you've become really good at pushing things down, staying busy, or convincing yourself you're fine. (Spoiler: it usually catches up with us. If you're here, there's a good chance it already has.) Therapy here isn't about nodding for 50 minutes while you do all the talking. We'll get curious about what's keeping you stuck, gently challenge the stories that no longer serve you, and make sense of them together. This is a space where you can slow down and be fully yourself, messy parts included. Swearing about life is 100% allowed, humour is encouraged, and there's no need to filter yourself here.

I’m so glad you are here. New Clients are welcome, both young and old (individuals, couples, families). Let’s talk about how therapy helps. There are so many ways we can feel better, we just need to take one step. Reaching out is the first, and often clients feel better after the first session. There are no waitlists for new clients, when you are ready to begin, we begin. Every moment is an opportunity to feel better, but sometimes we lose hope and stop trying. I encourage self love and self-compassion with playfulness and creativity. “Love has the intense ability to heal the wounds from the blows that life gives us.” Sue Johnson

What therapy types help with codependency problems?
Both couples and family therapy and cognitive and behavioral therapy (CBT) can help with the relationship difficulties referred to as codependency. Such problems typically include inappropriate feelings of responsibility for a loved one’s destructive behavior, irrational patterns of thinking about such behavior, and family interaction patterns in which the needs of one troubled member override the needs of others in a household.

What happens in therapy for codependency?
Spouses and family members learn and practice how to interact and support each other in a healthy way without sacrificing their own needs or well-being. They learn the limits of their responsibility for their loved ones and correct faulty patterns of thinking and feeling that underlie codependent behavior. Individuals may be encouraged to nurture an array of social relationships and to cultivate their own talents and interests so that they develop a healthy sense of self outside the family.

How does therapy help a person or couple overcome codependency?
Therapy helps people establish healthy ways of being in a relationship. Spouses and family members learn how to nurture and support one another without sacrificing their own needs or allowing the needs of one person to dominate the dynamic. Individuals learn how to say no and set boundaries, and how to maintain their own identity and self-esteem. Therapy helps people understand that they are not responsible for the feelings and actions of others. It also helps individuals deal with the turbulence that can come from living with a person suffering from such conditions as substance abuse and mental illness.

What is the goal of therapy for codependency?
One goal of therapy for codependency is to alleviate feelings of responsibility for and correct irrational patterns of thinking about loved ones whose behavioral problems override the needs of others in a household. Therapy helps people establish healthy boundaries of behavior and speak up for their own needs in a relationship. In addition, people learn how to maintain a healthy relationship, one in which both parties give and receive equally and are able to retain their own identity.
