I use a collaborative, person-centred approach. I am aware of the constraints and social inequalities people face, which act as both a cause of mental health issues and a barrier to receiving help. I work with those experiencing various concerns through a trauma-informed, social justice and anti-oppressive framework. I value healing through connection, sharing and community. Growth is a lifelong journey, and I provide a judgment-free safe space for clients to explore their inner world. Compassion, authenticity, and cultural sensitivity are my practice's underlying values.

My work is trauma-informed and strength-based, integrating person-centred therapy, mindfulness, and somatic awareness to support children, teens, adults, and couples.
Do you sometimes feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure where to begin when it comes to taking care of your mental and emotional well-being? Do you find yourself putting your needs at the bottom of your to-do list while trying to manage responsibilities, relationships, and everyday stress? Many people today feel anxious, disconnected, or uncertain about how to move forward when life becomes difficult. Reaching out for support can feel intimidating, but you don’t have to navigate these challenges alone.

” I use evidence-based therapy approaches and am a certified somatic practitioner.
You’re competent, capable, and the one others rely on, but internally, you’re exhausted. You overthink decisions, replay conversations, and set impossibly high standards for yourself. On the outside, you’re successful. On the inside, you’re anxious, tense, or quietly burning out.

I received training in Somatic EMDR and Reiki.
We are spiritual beings experiencing life in human form, but the challenges of our human condition can often overwhelm us. Spirituality involves reconnecting with our true nature as spiritual beings and pure awareness. Psychotherapy, on the other hand, helps us heal and release the burdens we carry throughout life, while also fully embracing our human nature. Whether you are dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, grief, career changes, life transitions, or struggles in relationships, I provide a safe and non-judgmental space for you to explore your thoughts and emotions. Together, we will uncover your inner wisdom and resilience.

Somatic Counsellors
How does somatic therapy work?
Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?
Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?
Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
