I am a Registered Psychologist in BC and have been practicing since 2003. I do individual therapy with adults primarily from a psychodynamic perspective but incorporate other perspectives such as cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), EMDR, and trauma-informed practices. Much of my work has focused on helping people who are experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma or stress. The length of therapy can vary. Short-term therapy can be helpful for lessening symptoms or adjusting to new life circumstances, while longer-term therapy can be useful for addressing longer-standing issues such low self-esteem or the after-effects of trauma.

Welcome, and thank you for visiting my profile. I believe that everyone’s path to well-being is unique. I provide therapy based on each individual’s specific needs, offering a flexible and personalized approach to support your journey toward healing and growth. Many people come to therapy feeling emotionally exhausted, stuck in painful relationship patterns, overwhelmed by self-criticism, or disconnected from themselves and others. Often, these struggles persist despite years of insight, effort, or attempts to simply “push through.”

Modern life offers unique challenges to our children, our relationships, and where we are often last to focus, ourselves. If you are currently overwhelmed by stress, anxiety, depression, ADHD, neurodiversity, grief, addictive behaviors, anger, or by something you feel guilt or shame about, you are not alone. We all find ourselves struggling at times, even questioning the daily reality and meaning of our lives as men, women, and non-binary people. Shining some light on these topics can be so very helpful. I provide a warm, judgement-free, safe and private space for you to share, to explore yourself, to reflect, and to heal.

Hi, I’m Celina Jensen, a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC), Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) and EMDR therapist. You may look capable on the outside — holding it together at work or for your family — yet feel reactive, overwhelmed, anxious, or not quite yourself. Relationship patterns may leave you feeling frustrated, shut down, or not good enough. Therapy can help you feel more grounded, regulated, and connected. I provide trauma-informed therapy for adults navigating trauma, anxiety, relationship challenges, anger, and chronic stress. Together, we work toward feeling less reactive and more connected to yourself and others.

Living neurodiverse in a neurotypical world is profoundly overwhelming. When you constantly mask to fit into boxes that weren't made for you, anxiety takes over and disconnects you from who you really are. Being queer and navigating a heteronormative world can leave you carrying heavy burdens of shame, self-doubt, and exhaustion. You might feel like you are spending all your energy just trying to survive rather than actually living. I provide an affirming, judgment-free space for LGBTQ+ and ND clients to safely drop the mask. I draw from a variety of techniques to ensure therapy fits you, rather than making you fit the therapy.

Seeking counseling can be a challenging process and it’s important to work with a therapist that is the right fit for you. I thrive in working with individuals feeling overwhelmed, wanting relief, or seeking a deeper understanding of themselves. While these experiences can leave us feeling stuck in a broad range of emotional states, such as shame, guilt, anxiety, numbness, or isolation, I can help with navigating the stressors that are part of your everyday lived experience. I value collaborating with clients to support them in their journey to achieve harmony, fulfillment, and happiness.

Reaching out for help with a problem can be very intimidating! It may help you to know that our work together will always be based upon YOUR values and goals and a shared understanding of the problem. I use cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness-based methods to help people who struggle with unpleasant feelings, problem behaviors, or under-functioning. I'm a huge fan of ACT Therapy, which helps you to notice and disentangle from unhelpful thoughts, notice and accept diffiuclt feelings, orient to the present moment and commit to actions that move you towards what you want in life - towards your values!

Hi, I’m Nivedita Ashok! I’m so glad you’ve found your way here. You might be a couple who loves each other but can't seem to stop hurting each other. A family stretched thin by change, conflict, or disconnection. Or an individual carrying something heavy and wondering if anything can actually shift. My clients are adults who are exhausted, stuck, or quietly hoping there's another way. They come in skeptical sometimes, and brave always. Together, we slow things down, get curious about what's really happening beneath the surface, and start building something different both in your relationships, and in yourself.

Feeling emotionally disconnected in your relationship? You may avoid speaking up because you fear disappointing your partner or triggering strong reactions. Feeling depressed or anxious without knowing why? You may feel lost and unsure of what to do next. If you come from an Asian background or grew up in an Asian immigrant family, you may carry expectations, cultural conflict and a constant sense of not being good enough. You are tired of feeling stuck in these survival patterns. You want to see some light in the dark clouds and feel understood and connected as a valued human being.

If anxiety about how you're seen in the world has started running the show, or your relationship with your body feels like something you're surviving instead of living in, you're in the right place. Much of my work lives at the intersection of body image, anxiety, and self-worth. I'm trained in dismantling weight bias and supporting people navigating appearance-based shame — the particular exhaustion of existing in a body that the world won't stop having opinions about. This work is somatic, creative, and grounded in the understanding that how you feel about yourself didn't start with you.

Hi, I’m Adriann. I work with people who often seem 'fine' on the outside but feel overwhelmed, anxious, or disconnected on the inside. Sometimes it feels like everything is too much—but at the same time, you don’t know where to start. Maybe you’re constantly in overdrive, or maybe you’ve started to shut down just to cope. I support people who are navigating complex trauma, burnout, and emotional numbness—especially when things look okay from the outside but don’t feel okay at all. Together, we slow things down and start to reconnect with your body, your inner cues, and what you need to feel good, happy and grounded again.

Sexual Abuse Counsellors
How do therapists treat sexual abuse?
A good therapist will be nonjudgmental and possibly demonstrate active listening, repeating back what the client says to show that they have understood. These skills allow people to feel comfortable discussing their traumatic experiences openly. Some important treatment goals are to restore a sense of safety and to rebuild confidence. In addition to working one-on-one with the patient, a therapist might bring in supportive family members to assist the client.

Do you have to talk extensively about sexual abuse in therapy?
Survivors frequently find it difficult to describe what happened to them out loud. They can even still be in a state of denial if the sexual abuse occurred recently. It is important for survivors to acknowledge that what happened isn’t their fault and to challenge and reappraise any unhealthy feelings or thoughts as they arise. Art therapy and play therapy are useful non-verbal means of communication for some survivors.

How long does treatment for sexual abuse take?
Recovery from sexual abuse can be a long and difficult process. Some survivors are able to move on naturally on their own, given time, while others require the guidance of a trained therapist. Therapy needs vary and can range from a few sessions to months or even years. Healing from sexual abuse takes time, and everyone’s journey will look a little different.

Can trauma symptoms caused by sexual abuse come back after treatment?
As occurs in many cases of trauma, survivors of sexual abuse may experience PTSD-like symptoms long after the abuse has ceased or after an initial round of treatment has occurred. In such a case, there is evidence that prolonged exposure therapy is a useful treatment for survivors, and may be more efficacious than supportive counseling alone. While triggers may continue to cause distress, the idea is that, with time and repeated exposure, their power will fade, allowing survivors to move on with their lives.
