You may look capable on the outside — holding it together at work or for your family — yet feel reactive, overwhelmed, anxious, or not quite yourself.
My approach integrates EMDR, parts work, and somatic practices to support nervous system regulation and relational healing.
For children (typically ages 3–12), I offer play-based therapy with caregiver involvement at the centre of the process. Through sand tray and expressive play we support emotional regulation and strengthen caregiver-child connection.

Feelings of stress, inadequacy, disappointment, anxiety, anger, and sadness are universal and part of the shared human experience.
Yet, in all pain therein lies an opportunity for growth. Growth and healing take place when we are rested in the confidence that we can learn to adapt and improve, even in the worst situations. To manage life's challenges, we need to learn to embrace our own mental states, discover and use our internal resources to shape our own narrative of life again.

It may help you to know that our work together will always be based upon YOUR values and goals and a shared understanding of the problem. I use cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness-based methods to help people who struggle with unpleasant feelings, problem behaviors, or under-functioning. I'm a huge fan of ACT Therapy, which helps you to notice and disentangle from unhelpful thoughts, notice and accept diffiuclt feelings, orient to the present moment and commit to actions that move you towards what you want in life - towards your values!

Do you struggle with unhelpful thoughts, difficult emotions, and challenging relationships? It’s human to get caught in painful patterns and wake up in a life that no longer feels like ours, leading us to feel overwhelmed, exhausted, frustrated, and lost. My clients are resilient and have often tried many different approaches to improve their circumstances when I meet them. Despite our best efforts, sometimes we still feel stuck and need support in making the changes necessary to create a better life. I can help! I am trained in both individual and couples therapy, as relationships are often a source of profound distress for us.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.
What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioural therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioural Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.
How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.
How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
