What would it take to live the life you imagined? Have you truly found your authentic self? Visit me at Aster Wellness Centre and we will explore these questions to consider your current path. We often have our sights set high but lose track of what is truly important due to unexpected obstacles such as immense anxiety, anger, depression, fear, grief, and personal traumas. We don't ask for these things, but they are occasionally placed along our path, and can easily trip us up. The feeling that we are stuck or unable to realize our potential sets in.

My approach to counselling has always been grounded in the belief that true healing comes when we treat the whole person, not just the symptoms. From my own experiences and reflections in the mental health and substance use field, I recognized that many therapy models focus primarily on the mind, often neglecting the deep connection between our emotions, bodies, and spiritual well-being. This realization inspired me to pursue a more integrated approach to healing—one that acknowledges the importance of balancing all aspects of life. This holistic philosophy shapes the way I work with my clients.

To support you in that, I am a Canadian Certified Counsellor with a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy.
If you are functioning on the outside but feel anxious, tense, or stuck in the same relational patterns inside, you are not alone. Many people I work with are thoughtful and capable, yet stress, conflict, or a major transition like a move, loss, or career change has started to weigh on them. You may be navigating family expectations, cultural pressure, or the sense that you have to hold it together. You may want relief, but you also want clarity and a way forward that fits your values, culture, and relationships. Your goal might be to feel steadier, understand what keeps repeating, and respond with more intention.

Inviting me in as a therapeutic partner means we will explore areas of your life that also impact your mental wellness, like sleep, diet, ritual, community, movement, cultural history, & nervous system health.
Addressing individual life areas or single issues in therapy often proves ineffective, leaving folks feeling we've "stopped short" or missed the mark, because you do not exist in a silo. What I've learned from expert research & practicing with seasoned professionals is that people are complex & taking the time to understand all of their lives; socially, physically, culturally, & mentally, sets a solid foundation for us to develop a partnership & engage in meaningful therapeutic work. If you've left therapy feeling unsure or rushed in your experience, I'd like to join you on a different journey that feels invested, aligned, & seen.

Marriage Counselling Counsellors
How does marriage counseling work?
Marriage counseling works by teaching couples concrete skills to communicate with one another and solve disagreements in healthy ways. A trained mental health professional works with both members of a couple to explore difficulties the couple may be having and helps them develop skills to address these matters. Couples who don’t have any difficulties but want to prepare for marriage may develop skills for the future.

How long does marriage counseling typically last?
Marriage counseling is a short-term form of therapy; the process may last between four and eight sessions. Other forms of relationship guidance from mental health professionals, such as couples therapy, are longer lasting, may focus on the past rather than just the present, and are tailored to the individual couple and their emotions, history, and patterns in the relationship. Couples therapy often lasts for 12 weeks or longer.

Is marriage counseling effective?
Marriage counseling helps many couples develop relationship skills that may not have been acquired or tested in a relationship; partners may be better able to communicate and address conflict following counseling. However, there are many different forms of marriage counseling, and this form of counseling does not have as strong an evidence base as other modalities such as couples therapy.

Is marriage counseling effective if only one partner wants to go?
Yes, marriage counseling can still be effective if one partner convinces the other to engage in the process. Of course, whether counseling is effective depends on the couple’s commitment to work on their relationship; however, the short-term, skills-based nature of marriage counseling makes it a relatively easy “ask” of a partner, and the hesitant individual may see its value once counseling begins.
