Canada Life | Great-West Life Therapists in Port Coquitlam, BC
Life experiences can leave us feeling stressed, anxious, inadequate and even hopeless. At times we feel lost, as we struggle to navigate the pain and discomfort we are feeling and may be unsure of how to take steps forward. Counselling can be a place where we make space for the painful experiences of the past, our hopes for the future, and embracing all of who we are and hope to be. No matter what difficulty you are facing, there is hope in restoring what feels lost or broken and support for you as you process, heal, grow and find meaning.

You may be someone carrying wounds you can't quite name — anxiety that won't settle, a heaviness that lingers, or experiences that have shaped you in ways you're still untangling. Perhaps you've been the strong and responsible one for everyone else, yet feel lost when it comes to yourself. Or perhaps you feel like you are not good enough and you can't seem to get started on your own goals . I work with people who are ready to explore their inner world with curiosity. Together, we create a safe, unhurried space where healing can unfold — not by pushing harder, but by learning to understand, feel, and gently return to yourself.

Sometimes we’ve been wounded. We are bitter and end up in hard places. We are in relationships that have grown painful, disappointing, even hopeless. It seems there are insurmountable chasms, and we are stuck with nowhere to go. Sometimes the hard places consume all our joy, and we are simply numb. Our emotions have dried up, and we no longer feel. At other times, the hard places can trigger fear, desperation, or panic attacks.

I take a narrative approach to therapy, grounded in the belief that we are each experts in our own lives and that our identities are shaped by the stories we hold about ourselves, our relationships, and our experiences. Together, we'll explore the impact of challenges such as anxiety, depression, burnout, trauma, emotional dysregulation, parenting challenges, neurodiversity (e.g., ADHD, ASD, ODD), behavioural concerns, family and relationship difficulties. I value the role of somatic awareness, nervous system regulation, and connection with the natural world in supporting resilience, emotional wellbeing, and growth.

You keep it together on the outside, but inside, anxiety, depression, or the weight of past trauma are quietly taking a toll. Maybe you’re juggling a career, relationships, and family expectations, yet still feel like you’re falling short. Do you find yourself stuck in self-doubt or intense emotions?
Whether you're healing from PTSD, or simply feeling overwhelmed, you deserve support that sees the full picture. In our work together, we’ll explore the roots of emotional pain: family patterns, cultural messages, or unspoken expectations, and build practical tools to support self-compassion, communication, and emotional regulation.
