In my services, I prioritize your needs and integrate person-centered and psychodynamic approaches in art therapy.
I like to use puzzles as an analogy or a metaphor to describe our lived experiences. Sometimes it is just difficult to put a puzzle by yourself. There are things you are worried about, you are fearful to think of, or something you have not discovered yet. I am here to help you place the pieces together to understand yourself better. Although it may take some time, or it may not be perfect, you are not alone. You want to find a way to redefine yourself, but you do not know where to begin with or feel drained to try.

People seek counselling when feeling emotionally overwhelmed, disconnected from themselves, or at a crossroads in life. These experiences are often shaped by family, culture, or long-standing survival patterns of adaptation. Clients may present with anxiety, grief, loss, or a sense of uncertainty during periods of transition, and may be seeking greater clarity, emotional steadiness, and a stronger sense of identity in an increasingly complex world. Their goal is not simply to “feel better,” but to reconnect with meaning, values, and self-trust in order to make thoughtful, authentic life decisions.

As a registered therapeutic counsellor and art therapist I believe in harnessing the creative process to help unearth things in our subconscious that we might have not realized just by talking it out or by thinking it through via regular talk therapy.
Think of art therapy as the creative, cool aunt of regular talk therapy. And yes, we also talk in sessions — the creative process just directs us into the conversation. I work with anyone experiencing overwhelm and specialize in perfectionism, chronic pain, invisible illnesses such as fibromyalgia, and those grieving the loss of a beloved pet.

Many people who find their way to my practice have already tried therapy. They're insightful, capable, and functional, yet still feel shaped by old relational patterns, chronic self-doubt, or a sense that something unresolved keeps showing up despite their best efforts. The work I do invites people to slow down and look closely at how their inner world has been organized by relationships, long-standing adaptations, and nervous system patterns. This is not short-term therapy. Sessions are relational, reflective, and often require tolerating discomfort as familiar strategies soften and new ways of relating to yourself emerge.

My training in CBT, trauma-informed therapy, Developmental Couple Therapy for Complex Trauma, narrative therapy, and art therapy allows me to help individuals and couples address their fears, difficult past experiences, attachment and relational issues.
I help my clients with challenges in their personal, relational and professional roles, using their own strengths, negative thought patterns, and past experiences. I help my clients work through their new roles in life as a parent, partner, etc. Parents may specifically find our sessions helpful as we discuss the parenting styles, how they bond with the child, and how parenthood has been impacting the partner's dynamic. I also help immigrants and new comers work through their negative feelings such as guilt, sadness, fears and self-doubts; uniquely, adult children who carry a sense of guilt towards their aging parents back home.

Art Therapy Counsellors
How does art therapy work?
The process of making art allows people to express themselves. Art-making can take many forms, such as painting, collage, or sculpting. The therapist asks questions that the work elicits, such as how the person felt while creating their piece, or if any memories surfaced that they can discuss. The therapist will then work with the patient to process their experience, understand themselves better, and work toward change.

Does art therapy help with trauma?
Art therapy can be a valuable treatment option for those suffering from trauma. Traumatic experiences such as combat, rape, or childhood abuse can be so painful that articulating them can be too scary or painful; creating art allows people to express themselves without words, and tell their story in a different way. The physical nature of creating art can also help people feel rooted in the body, which may benefit those who feel disconnected from their body in the aftermath of trauma.

How long does art therapy last?
The duration of art therapy varies, but a common length for treatment is 10 to 15 weekly sessions. Some people may see improvement in just a few weeks, while others may choose to remain in therapy longer term. Patients should periodically discuss their goals with their therapist to make sure the two are aligned on process and progress.

What are the limitations of art therapy?
Art therapy is helpful for many people, but a limitation is that it doesn’t have as robust an evidence base as other forms of therapy, such as cognitive behavioral therapy or acceptance and commitment therapy. The evidence on art therapy is mixed; some research demonstrates its benefits, while other research suggests that it has little impact on patients.
