To the person who went through Immigration, Infertility, Miscarriage, Divorce, Single Parenting and who dealt with anxiety in teens: Although I do not know your pain to the extent that you feel it because it is YOUR experience, I can relate to it, and I can empathize with your struggles because I walked in those shoes. Thus, I will help you find hope again through a therapeutic process tailored to your UNIQUE needs.

I specialize in helping individuals with ADHD, anxiety, depression, grief, work-related stress, communication challenges, addictions and life transitions.
Along the way, I’ll help you find your inner strength, bringing you more stability and resilience. As we work through past experiences, we can open ourselves to self-compassion, forgiveness, and acceptance, which we can then share with others.

You are the wisest guide a counsellor can have. On some level, you know what is needed; however, your ability to listen to your "inner voice" maybe blocked or diminished by fear or past experiences that you are acting on in your current life. Collaboratively, we can sort out and work through your life experiences.

I commonly work with fertility struggles, grief processing, depression, overwhelm, addictions, anxiety, relationship conflict, eating disorders, low self esteem, trust issues, and clients who are simply unhappy with the current state of their life.
I compassionately reflect back to you the truth of who you are. We are each unique beings and are divinely perfect in all our imperfections. I gently soften the edges and teach you how to honor the emotions that arise, and allow them to flow through you to be released, so you can regain clarity and attune to your inner guidance.

Are you tired of feeling like you're not enough, no matter how much you achieve? I specialize in helping successful people increase their self confidence and break free from this endless cycle. You're the one everyone calls when they need help - the strong friend, reliable daughter. But inside? You're tired and stretched thin. You work twice as hard but still feel fake. You say "yes" when you want to say "no" because letting people down feels scary. You deserve support that truly understands what it's like. Are you wanting your therapist to understand your needs as a BIPOC woman?

As a queer transfeminine counsellor, my aim is to provide counselling services to individuals who feel more safe, better understood, or better served by having a queer counsellor. Sometimes queer clients need queer counsellors. It can be an uncomfortable experience to feel misunderstood by your counsellor, or to have to educate them on what your identity means. This includes clients with LGBTQIA2S+ experience, clients struggling with issues relating to gender and sexuality, and anyone else who may prefer a queer counsellor for their own reasons. Once we start, we can talk about any of your problems, be they queer or otherwise.

I'm the son of an electrician, and I grew up being modelled that there is always a right tool for the job. This is how I approach my work. With humility and curiosity, I use an integrative approach that emphasizes the connection between body and mind, and explores past, present and future. CBT, DBT, ACT these are just some of the tools we can use together.

Addressing individual life areas or single issues in therapy often proves ineffective, leaving clients feeling we've "stopped short" or missed the mark, because you do not exist in a silo. What I've learned from expert research and practicing with seasoned professionals is that people are complex & taking the time to understand all of their lives; socially, physically, & mentally, sets a solid foundation for us to develop a partnership & engage in meaningful therapeutic work. If you've left therapy feeling unsure of your progress, path, or goals, I'd like to join you on a different journey & help you feel aligned with who you are.

From my own experiences and reflections in the mental health and substance use field, I recognized that many therapy models focus primarily on the mind, often neglecting the deep connection between our emotions, bodies, and spiritual well-being.
I incorporate practices like mindfulness, stress reduction techniques, and awareness of lifestyle factors that directly impact mental health. My work combines various therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindfulness practices, and emotional processing, to help people achieve a sense of balance and inner peace

Addiction Counsellors
What is the best therapy for addiction?
Addiction treatment will be tailored to the individual. People seeking help for addiction—whether with a psychotherapist, in an outpatient clinic, or in a residential program—should expect to engage in multiple types of treatments, sometimes including medication. For anyone recovering from addiction, avoiding situations in which one has typically used a substance is essential, as is the support of close connections. Since substance use disorders tend to co-occur with underlying mental health conditions such as anxiety or depression, those must also be addressed as part of any recovery plan.
How long does therapy for addiction take?
There is no set timeline for recovery from addiction. Patients and their families should expect the work to last several months, if not longer. Residential treatment programs may be based on a stay of 30, 60, or 90 days, with continuing work after release, but only about 1 percent of people are treated in such facilities. Ceasing use is just the first step; therapy to help maintain abstinence and effect behavior change must follow. The process of recovery, neuroscience has shown, involves brain cells recovering the capacity to respond to natural sources of reward and restore control over the impulse to use. Another definition of recovery is restoring voluntary control over one’s substance use and retaking all of one’s previous responsibilities.
How effective is drug addiction treatment?
Substance use disorders are treatable and remission is achievable for many who seek recovery; by some estimates, more than three-quarters of people who become addicted to alcohol or drugs recover. But that success rarely occurs quickly or on a set timeline; relapse is not only common, but many therapists and clinicians view it as a normal part of the process—not always a sign that a person has returned to addiction, but a signal that their treatment should be adjusted to help them regain control. Overall, research suggests, five years after the end of substance use, one’s risk of relapse is no greater than that of others who had not faced addiction. Other experts believe that complete abstinence is not the only measure of recovery, and that, through effective treatment, many people can learn to control their use.
How can you get addiction treatment for someone?
The most important factor in recovery from addiction is widely understood to be an individual’s commitment to change. For that reason,“interventions” in which friends and family gather to urge or force someone to begin immediate treatment often backfire; even when such efforts do lead someone to begin treatment, they may be less likely to stay than those who are self-driven. Still, family members can play an important role in supporting an individual who seeks help and can take part in family therapy as one element of a loved one’s treatment.
