Hello! I'm so glad you made it here. It can feel really overwhelming to choose a therapist. Here's a bit about me and the work that I like to do. I enjoy working with youth and adults who are struggling with trauma, impacts of domestic violence, anxiety, body image/disordered eating, depression, life transitions, suicidal ideation, ADHD, family and peer conflict, and substance use disorders. I also work with family members and caregivers, helping provide tools in order for them to better support their loved ones. I strive to create a warm and safe space for people to process the big (and small) things in their lives!

Do you feel lost, burnt out, or that you're barely surviving and can't catch a break? I support clients through the messy and complicated periods of life. As humans we face all sorts of challenges - from your relationships dynamics or mood (like anxiety or depression), trauma from the past that keeps getting in your way, or just general "life" (like parenting, finances, health conditions). Therapy is the space to get some support, learn some tools and find some insight on the patterns which will help meaningful shifts in your life from surviving to thriving.

Life doesn’t always unfold the way we imagined. Transitions, relationships, and the ups and downs of our inner world can leave you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or questioning your direction. You may find yourself in familiar relationship patterns, feeling anxious beneath the surface, or noticing patterns like overthinking, people-pleasing, or struggling to set boundaries, even when you know something needs to change. Part of you understands what’s happening, but another part still feels stuck. Together, we’ll look at the patterns underneath what you’re experiencing, not just the symptoms, so change feels meaningful and lasting.

I believe that every client is unique and an expert in themselves. Sometimes, however, circumstances or events feel overwhelming and intrude on our ability to live the life we want. Having a person to support us on our journey to healing is necessary to feel capable of processing and transforming.

Do you find yourself pushing even when everything inside you says stop? Maybe you’ve built a successful life on the outside—but inside, you feel wired, tired, or disconnected. You might be holding it all together while quietly battling anxiety, exhaustion, or the weight of experiences you’ve never fully talked about. I work with driven people who want to understand why they can’t switch off—and how to finally feel at ease without losing their drive. Many of my clients are high achievers who’ve lived through painful or overwhelming experiences, including sexual trauma, and learned to cope by staying busy, controlled, or always “on.”

Hi, I am Hao, a culturally grounded bilingual (English/Mandarin) therapist supporting all, with a focus on marginalized groups, e.g. BIPOC & LGBTQ+ clients. If you’ve turned to ChatGPT for clarity often while struggling in silence, you’re not alone. For many dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues, their unmet needs & learned beliefs can be central reasons they remain stuck. You might often be on edge, feel disassociated, or crave connections yet push people away. Patterns like Avoidance, Comparison trap, Overthinking, and Self-criticism quietly keep you trapped, leaving little space to care for yourself.

Hi! I'm Cory (he/him). As a counsellor, I embrace diversity and strive to provide culturally sensitive care to individuals from diverse backgrounds. I love working with the queer community, fellow consensually non-monogamous folks, and adults navigating (or considering the possibility of) an ADHD/neurodiversity diagnosis. I work with issues relating to identity, self-image and self-worth, depression and anxiety, grief and loss, life transitions, and suicidality and self-harm. Even if you don't have words to describe the precise nature of your distress, we can take it slow and explore together at a pace that's comfortable for you.

Why is mental health important for first responders?
As part of their work, first responders are often exposed to high levels of stress, trauma, and physical injury that can put them at a greater risk for serious mental health conditions than the general population. Conditions like PTSD, anxiety, substance use, and depression are more common in first responders, which can greatly reduce quality of life and lead to burnout, sleep disruption, and even suicidal thoughts. Therapy can offer an opportunity for first responders to process difficult on-the-job experiences and develop coping skills to better manage any mental health symptoms they may experience.

How can first responders get access to mental health support?
Many first responders can access therapy for free or at a very low cost through their employer, such as through an Employee Assistance Program (EAP). Workplaces may also offer or have referral recommendations for support groups, where first responders can meet with others in their profession to receive support. Individuals who would like to access mental health services outside of their employer may use their insurance benefits to see a therapist, which they can find by searching for therapists online or asking for recommendations from their primary care physician.

What type of therapy is best for first responders?
The best therapy approach depends on the mental health concerns of the client. Since many first responders struggle with trauma or PTSD, they may benefit from trauma-specific therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, Exposure Therapy, or Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). Individuals with symptoms of anxiety, depression, or stress may alternatively benefit from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or mindfulness-based therapeutic approaches, which can help clients develop coping skills to manage distressing thoughts.

Can therapy for first responders help with trauma and PTSD?
Therapy can be highly effective in both treating and preventing trauma and PTSD in first responders. Typically, therapy for trauma and PTSD focuses on developing stress management skills and managing intrusive or unwanted thoughts. Therapists working with first responders often help clients strengthen their relationships and reduce harmful coping mechanisms, such as excessive substance use. Additionally, therapists assist first responders in establishing daily habits that support overall mental and physical health and enhance resilience to future stress, such as regular physical exercise, mindfulness practices, and improved eating habits.
