Welcome. Whether you are in a painful situation, or wanting to work through chronic patterns or interpersonal challenges I am here to walk with you. We will name and move through and beyond what is keeping you stuck. I am not a 'blank slate" therapist; I show up as a real person invested in you and your healing, and together we work toward your goals. I specialize in working with both teens and adults to overcome issues related to: perfectionism, constantly under pressure, finding one's voice self-value or direction, social anxiety, children of emotionally immature or narcissistic parents, chronic pain, and parenting, among others.

Compassionate, Neurodiversity-Affirming Therapy: Do you feel like you’ve spent your life "masking" just to fit into a world that wasn't built for you? Many of the clients I work with come to me feeling exhausted by self-criticism, burnout, and the heavy weight of "trying harder" without ever feeling like they’ve met the expectations of others (or themselves). Whether you are navigating a late-in-life diagnosis or struggling with relationships, I provide a safe, inclusive space where we don't try to "fix" your neurodivergence. Instead, we work to understand your unique internal world with curiosity and kindness.

I like to collaborate with clients navigating concerns around life transitions, self-confidence, self-esteem, depression, anxiety and their body image. I value deep listening, emotional exploration, and the process of building personal insight; guiding clients to connect more fully with themselves and others. Therapy is not just about addressing problems; rather, it is also about rediscovering personal strengths and reconnecting with a sense of possibility and self-belief. As a counselling intern, I use my combined educational background in psychology and sociology to understand an individual's inner world.

Therapy can be an opportunity to bring awareness to your unconscious patterns, to discover where you have choice and to connect to your authentic self. Therapy is one way you turn towards yourself, this can be challenging when we’ve spent a life time turning away. We need time, space, and guidance to transform ourselves and forge a new path.

Do you find yourself overwhelmed by your emotion sometimes? Maybe you find that you’re feeling stuck, disconnected, and avoiding aspects of your life in an attempt to control your emotions. There are times in life where we all struggle to show up in ways that align with who we want to be, and often in these moments avoiding seems easier and the path of least resistance, but it likely comes with a cost. Determining what that cost is to you and those you love, becomes the foundation for our work together.

So many people come to me feeling like they’re running on empty but can’t quite explain why. Life looks fine on paper, yet something feels missing. If that resonates, you’re not alone, and you don’t have to keep figuring it out by yourself.

I work with clients who may be struggling with many challenges (e.g. addiction, ADHD, sleep, trauma) During our initial sessions, we will delve deeply into the issues at hand, and collaborate to create a plan for addressing them in a way that helps you get your life back.
Many people carry pain from the past that still shapes how they feel and function today. You don’t have to face it alone. I offer a warm, supportive space to gently explore what’s been holding you back and to help you find healing, clarity, and calm. Together, we’ll work at a pace that feels safe and respectful, creating room for growth, self-understanding, and renewed hope.

You may be someone who appears capable and put-together, yet feels internally stretched or disconnected. Perhaps you’re navigating demanding work, complex relationships, caregiving roles, or the aftereffects of difficult experiences. You might feel overwhelmed, emotionally distant, or unsure why things feel harder than they “should.” You’re thoughtful and reflective, wanting to understand yourself more deeply, ease persistent stress, and relate to others, and to your life - with greater clarity, steadiness, and meaning.

You might look like you’re doing well on the outside—but inside, you feel overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck. I work with young professionals who are tired of overthinking, struggling in relationships, or feeling like they’re just trying to keep up. Many of my clients are in their 20s to 40s, navigating pressure from work, relationships, parenting, and expectations—while quietly feeling exhausted, disconnected, or unsure how to cope. You may find yourself overthinking, people-pleasing, or feeling stuck in the same patterns.

Sleep or Insomnia Counsellors
How effective is treatment for insomnia?
The most effective treatments for insomnia are behavioral techniques that reduce anxiety, including anxiety about falling asleep, and allow the body’s natural cycles to be recalibrated. The most common treatment is cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), which researchers have found to be more useful than medication, with rates of success as high as 80 percent.

Are there specific medications for sleep problems?
There are many medications, both over-the-counter and prescription that treat sleep problems. Supplements such as melatonin are popular and may help, though there is little evidence that it is more effective than a placebo. Prescription medications such as zolpidem are sometimes prescribed.

Are there natural treatments for sleep problems?
There are many natural treatments for everyday sleep problems. Reducing blue-light emitting screens, setting a regular bedtime, regular exercise, reducing caffeine and nicotine consumption, and keeping the bedroom dark and cool at night are all lifestyle changes that can help those who struggle with sleep but may not reach the level of an insomnia diagnosis.

What’s the difference between having trouble falling asleep and insomnia?
Life events, stress, and anxiety can lead to sleepless nights for everyone from time to time. To be diagnosed with insomnia, a patient must experience trouble falling asleep, trouble remaining asleep, waking up too early, or non-restorative sleep at least three nights per week for at least one month. Sleep problems affect one-third to one-half of the population, while chronic insomnia affects about 10 to 15 percent of people.
