As a late-diagnosed AuDHDer (ADHD + Autistic), I know how it feels to struggle but not know why. So many of us have lived our lives in the neurotypical world but never felt like we truly fit in. This can lead to anxiety and depression, among other mental health challenges. Having a counsellor who approaches neurodivergence from a positive lens and who has been through similar experiences can help you begin to unpack the trauma from so many years of not being able to be your true self. I work with clients on being healthy within the neurotypical world by creating a life that honours their neurodivergence.

Throughout our lives we go through experiences that help define who we are. These moments of connection and isolation, fulfillment and confusion are foundational events that make us, us. These can be life altering experiences; societal forces, traumatic events, complicated relationships, or a series of distressing events that we carry for the rest of our lives. Working through these experiences can be scary. Therapy can help us unpack these moments to lead more meaningful and fulfilling lives. In our sessions, we will explore who you are; your world, beliefs, and values.

I am a Jamaican living in Vancouver. As a recent immigrant, I am aware of how the process and experience of forging a new life can bring both satisfaction and distress especially in intimate relationships. Life transitions can cause emotional stress and often, we need help to tap into our own inherent strengths. Sexuality and sexual behaviours can also be challenging for some but, I am passionate about working with individuals and couples of all genders, orientations, races and ethnicities. I also specialize in addictions which I view as a maladaptive coping skill for traumatic situations.

I work primarily with clients facing complicated relationship dynamics, life transitions, grief, trauma, parenting challenges, and anxiety. For many clients, therapy is the first time they have spoken about the most painful parts of their lives. It is so important to be listened to without shame or judgement. My main goal is for you to leave each session feeling seen and believed, and ultimately that you matter. While I mostly work with adults and youth, I also counsel children using art and play-based methods to build a trusting relationship while holistically addressing underlying concerns.

We often deal with overwhelming feelings and thoughts all by ourselves, such as excessive worrying, sadness, loneliness, powerlessness, hopelessness, and frustrations, making it hard for you to live a wholehearted life, full of meaningful relationships and activities that fulfills your life's purpose. I have successfully helped clients heal from traumatic experiences, families and parent-child conflicts, anxiety, depression, life and work stressors ("adulting"), executive functioning (i.e. ADHD), and sensory processing sensitivities, who are 12 years and older in reclaiming back their hopes, dreams and reasons to be alive.
