You will learn skills to process your grief/losses, anger, hypervigilance, hypertensitivity, flashbacks, nightmares,
and avoidant behaviours.
PTSD or Trauma related to stressful life changes, psychological / emotional / physical childhood abuse, neglect, rejection, abandonment, exploitation, sexual abuse, incest or witnessing family violence could result in experiencing distorted perceptions, emotions, beliefs and meanings about life. Trauma freezes the traumatic experience in the nervous system creating unhelpful thinking, negative self-assessment, and self-defeating / self-sacrificing behaviours. These conditions can affect your capacity to tolerate and adapt to life's ups and downs; to break old patterns that hold you back; to avoid engaging in risky behaviours/situations; and to avoid re-enacting your past traumas over and over.
