Sometimes life can feel hectic and overwhelming. Whether you're experiencing depression, anxiety, loneliness, addiction, divorce, injustice, stagnant decision-making, lack of coping, grief or loss, I am here to help. I understand the intense difficulties of life you may be facing, and can help you shift from a place of suffering to a place of rational calm to help you manouvre through the storm you are feeling. In the words of Rumi, "Do not feel lonely, the entire universe is inside you," and I can help you find new opportunities to feel better.

I do not believe that there is a single approach to counselling. I like to collaborate with clients to create a personalized treatment plan and "toolkit" of coping mechanisms. My goal as a therapist is to lead with compassion and genuineness; I believe in teamwork where clients guide me through their life experiences and I offer gentle and honest feedback, explaining the rationale behind suggested interventions. I feel that this balance of warmth, direction, and authenticity contributes to a strong working relationship.

I'm a therapist for attachment trauma - my practice specializes in working with individuals who tend to experience messy, unfulfilling patterns in their relationships. This may be a result of trauma in your upbringing, or in relational wounds as an adult. Many of my clients seek therapy due to either difficult relationship patterns or trouble with getting their needs met. This impacts our ability to trust others, have confidence in ourselves, and to ask for what we truly need. My focus is on restoring self-confidence, making relationships easier, and getting you un-stuck.

You’re not broken. Something in you has been trying to cope. You might look like you’re holding it together on the outside… but inside, you feel overwhelmed, anxious, or constantly overthinking. Maybe your mind won’t slow down, your body feels on edge, or you keep falling into the same patterns no matter how hard you try. Often, it’s not a lack of effort, it’s a nervous system that’s been under strain for a long time.

In person sessions are available to local residents.
If you find yourself overthinking, feeling guilty for setting boundaries, or trying to balance family expectations with your own needs — you’re not alone. Many people feel pressure to “hold it together” while quietly struggling inside.

In the world of problems, maybe none are more worth solving than those that plague children and families. Over 20 years, I have dedicated my practice to solving these problems by counselling parents, children & families and assisting them through high-conflict challenges. In March 2013, the Family Law Act changed whereby it now is rightly focused on the best interests of the child and makes it possible for families to work with a parental coordinator who has judicial authority to make legally binding decisions. This alternate dispute resolution allows for a more effective process so that children of high-conflict families are not stale mated.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
