In today's information overloaded society, we have so much available at our fingertips telling us what to do to feel better, what supplement to take, what meditation exercise to try. Often this can leave us feeling like we're reaching and searching for the right answer to feel relief. Which can cause us to feel alone in our struggles and stuck.

I truly think people, including kids and families, transcend the obstacles they encounter. I see their strengths and understand the hard parts they're going through. I follow a humanistic and creative approach to therapy, where we explore different sides of who they are and how they're growing. I firmly believe in creating a secure environment where individuals can freely express themselves and feel acknowledged. I use a gentle and empowering method to help clients on their journey, grow, and change.

I also specialize in couples and sex/intimacy therapy.
You may feel deeply and value meaningful connections, yet find yourself repeating the same relationship patterns. You might overthink interactions, question your worth, or feel anxious in relationships even when you care deeply about others. Many people I work with are thoughtful, emotionally aware individuals who want to better understand themselves and the patterns shaping how they connect with others and themselves. They may have insight into their struggles but still feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from their sense of self.

You are not alone, and I’m really glad you’re here. Reaching out for counselling can feel like a big step, and it’s okay if it feels overwhelming. Healing isn’t always linear, but therapy can offer a steady, supportive space as you move through change and reconnect with your strengths. My approach is relational, compassionate, and grounded in deep respect for your story. Together, we can gently explore the parts of you that may feel hidden, distant, at a pace that feels right for you. My hope is to walk alongside you as you reconnect with yourself & others, and feel more grounded, supported, and trusting of your inner wisdom.

I work with individuals suffering from PTSD, depression, and anxiety as well as couples and families experiencing relational conflict or distress.
Past wounds can show up in unhealthy emotional, thought and behaviour patterns, blocking true connection. I aim to help you develop a growth mindset and look inwards to engage in self-reflection and attain a realistic understanding of your struggles. We work together to explore earlier experiences, build inner strength, confidence and emotional resilience, and cultivate self-compassion. I encourage my clients to explore emotions, challenge self-limiting beliefs, and reconcile their perspective to cope with differences between their reality and expectations. My clients are committed to seeking purpose and meaning in their experiences

When anxiety takes over, it’s often your body’s way of asking for help. Racing thoughts, poor sleep, low mood, or constant tension can be signs of deeper imbalance — in your nervous system, your hormones, or even your gut. I help you uncover the root causes of your anxiety so you can heal from the inside out.

My counselling orientation is informed by the trainings I have completed, particularly Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples, and Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
I am in the business of helping people become themselves. In other words, I think that every person has a unique and beautiful core self that holds the blueprint for a deeply fulfilling and meaningful life. However, life can be painful and sometimes we need to move away from who we are in order to survive. It is my passion and joy to meet people in these places, work towards understanding our defenses, and together move towards whatever lies beneath. I’m honoured that you would consider inviting me to join you in this journey. I consider it a sacred privilege to discover what it means to live fully and freely.

You deserve to feel good about yourself. Even if that feels completely impossible right now. Even if a mean little gremlin of an inner critic has been telling you otherwise, maybe for your whole life. So many things get in the way when it comes to how we feel about ourselves and our lives - stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, dysfunctional relationships, toxic work environments, isolation, etc. It can feel like a million boulders piling up on top of you until you can't even see which way is up. I've been there and counselling was one of the things that helped me find the light again. The journey is easier with support.

I work with couples to help build a life of shared meaning together by strengthening their friendship, connection and conflict management.
Life experiences can leave us feeling stressed, anxious, inadequate and even hopeless. At times we feel lost, as we struggle to navigate the pain and discomfort we are feeling and may be unsure of how to take steps forward. Counselling can be a place where we make space for the painful experiences of the past, our hopes for the future, and embracing all of who we are and hope to be. No matter what difficulty you are facing, there is hope in restoring what feels lost or broken and support for you as you process, heal, grow and find meaning.

Marriage Counselling Counsellors
How does marriage counseling work?
Marriage counseling works by teaching couples concrete skills to communicate with one another and solve disagreements in healthy ways. A trained mental health professional works with both members of a couple to explore difficulties the couple may be having and helps them develop skills to address these matters. Couples who don’t have any difficulties but want to prepare for marriage may develop skills for the future.

How long does marriage counseling typically last?
Marriage counseling is a short-term form of therapy; the process may last between four and eight sessions. Other forms of relationship guidance from mental health professionals, such as couples therapy, are longer lasting, may focus on the past rather than just the present, and are tailored to the individual couple and their emotions, history, and patterns in the relationship. Couples therapy often lasts for 12 weeks or longer.

Is marriage counseling effective?
Marriage counseling helps many couples develop relationship skills that may not have been acquired or tested in a relationship; partners may be better able to communicate and address conflict following counseling. However, there are many different forms of marriage counseling, and this form of counseling does not have as strong an evidence base as other modalities such as couples therapy.

Is marriage counseling effective if only one partner wants to go?
Yes, marriage counseling can still be effective if one partner convinces the other to engage in the process. Of course, whether counseling is effective depends on the couple’s commitment to work on their relationship; however, the short-term, skills-based nature of marriage counseling makes it a relatively easy “ask” of a partner, and the hesitant individual may see its value once counseling begins.
