As a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC), I take a trauma and somatic-informed approach to help clients understand how the past continues to shape their present and future. My work supports individuals navigating dissociation, relational struggles, and the lasting effects of trauma. I believe healing happens through safety, awareness, and connection. Rooted in compassion and advocacy, I strive to create an inclusive space for all, centring the voices and experiences of those from marginalized communities while fostering resilience, growth, and authentic self-understanding.

I have training in: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), DBT for PTSD, Lifespan Integration, Grief Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Gottman Couples Therapy, and Observed & Experiential Integration.
We all deserve to live life that is fulfilling and meaningful to us. Our life experiences shape how we think and feel. When dealing with challenges we can feel overwhelmed, discouraged, or feel a loss of purpose or spiritual connection. We may feel we are in a crisis, feeling hopeless and alone. Counselling can help clients who wish to gain insight into their lives, relationships or jobs, who wish to make a change, or process past trauma. I have 5 years experience as a Registered Clinical Counsellor.

My goal is to be a rock-steady supportive force in my client’s lives as we work, first, to make the most out of the adversities and suffering they encounter, and then, to help fulfill their vision of a life worth living. With fierce compassion and companionship, cultural humility, coping skills, solution-focused strategies, and a dash of existential humor, I cater to my clients as unique human beings with individual needs. I intimately know what it’s like to not have a safe space where you can be seen for who you truly are, so I understand how exceptionally important it is for my clients to have our therapy be that secure base.

Most people don’t reach out for counselling because everything is clear—they come when something no longer fits, makes sense, or feels manageable to carry alone. Grief that lingers, illness, relationship strain, or a quiet sense that something isn’t sitting right can bring people here. You might be making sense of a loss, adjusting to changes you didn’t choose, or trying to find your footing again. Whatever brings you here, there is room for it.

I also work with couples working through communication, trust and connection challenges using an emotionally focused and attachment-based approach
Like you, your story is unique and important and deserves to be heard in a validating and respectful way. Sometimes the “story we tell ourselves” has negative messages about our worth and abilities and keeps us emotionally, personally or relationally stuck in unhelpful thoughts and behaviours. I would be honored to hear your story and help you strengthen your inner resources to re-author it into one that better reflects who you want to be.

I have 7 years of experience helping individuals, couples, and families in crisis.
Seeking help is not always easy. Not knowing what to say, worrying about being a burden, fear of being judged or rejected…the list is endless. It takes a lot of courage to ask for help because we will have to put ourselves in a vulnerable place, where we surrender control. I believe vulnerability is the key to any close relationship. And here you are, bravely taking the first step towards the journey of healing and reconnection. Congratulations! Now that you have chosen to reflect on the past and move forward, I hope to have the honour of providing a safe and welcoming space for you to let the healing begin.

We are committed to guiding individuals, children, youth, couples, and families toward healing and wholeness by walking alongside them through their pain and being a caring, supportive, and non-judgmental advocate.
Having a trauma-informed focus, we understand the negative impacts that trauma has on one's life. Trauma can cause you to feel depressed, anxious, and shame. It can cause relational challenges, and unhealthy boundaries, and be triggered by the most unsuspected thing. Our goal is to get to the root of the issue and find healing from where the trauma stemmed.

I am currently completing my Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy, which means as an intern, I am able to offer sessions at an affordable rate ($40-80 per hour/sliding scale).
I tend to approach our work through a systemic, attachment-based, and relational lens. I believe that healing happens in connection and through accepting our authentic selves. Therapy with me is collaborative. I consider it a privilege to sit with you through things that feel heavy and hard.

When conducting therapy with my couples I create a positive, comfortable, and humor-filled, environment which is most conducive to learning.
After being certified in Gottman Method of Couples Therapy (see www.gottman.com) it became a passion of mine to use this approach with clients to help integrate the principles and skills into their relationships. I feel that I am part of something that has real quality and substance.

I know that accessing counselling takes courage and I am glad you have landed on my page. Both my lived experience as a queer woman of colour and my training help guide therapy. We will work together collaboratively towards your healing and growth. My experience allows me to see the importance of cultural values and beliefs but also how that may impact an individual in a culturally diverse society. I work from a trauma informed and culturally inclusive perspective. I use an approach that uses the client's strengths to foster growth and promote mental wellness.

Marriage Counselling
How does marriage counseling work?
Marriage counseling works by teaching couples concrete skills to communicate with one another and solve disagreements in healthy ways. A trained mental health professional works with both members of a couple to explore difficulties the couple may be having and helps them develop skills to address these matters. Couples who don’t have any difficulties but want to prepare for marriage may develop skills for the future.

How long does marriage counseling typically last?
Marriage counseling is a short-term form of therapy; the process may last between four and eight sessions. Other forms of relationship guidance from mental health professionals, such as couples therapy, are longer lasting, may focus on the past rather than just the present, and are tailored to the individual couple and their emotions, history, and patterns in the relationship. Couples therapy often lasts for 12 weeks or longer.

Is marriage counseling effective?
Marriage counseling helps many couples develop relationship skills that may not have been acquired or tested in a relationship; partners may be better able to communicate and address conflict following counseling. However, there are many different forms of marriage counseling, and this form of counseling does not have as strong an evidence base as other modalities such as couples therapy.

Is marriage counseling effective if only one partner wants to go?
Yes, marriage counseling can still be effective if one partner convinces the other to engage in the process. Of course, whether counseling is effective depends on the couple’s commitment to work on their relationship; however, the short-term, skills-based nature of marriage counseling makes it a relatively easy “ask” of a partner, and the hesitant individual may see its value once counseling begins.
