We enter therapy hoping for deeper insight and healing by telling our story. We prepare to be vulnerable in a safe space to heal our wounds. At Solidarity Therapy we are registered clinical counsellors specializing in trauma-informed interventions. Check out our team below!

If you’re ready to process your relationship with chronic pain or illness—the helplessness, the anger, the grief, the confusion, and the parts of you that feel out of reach—so you can begin reconnecting with your sense of self, let’s talk.
You’ve built a life on high standards, constant output, and being the one who keeps things together. But when chronic pain/illness entered the picture, everything shifted. Your body demanded your life to change. Your energy isn't what it used to be. And quietly, you're missing parts of your identity you can no longer rely on. You may feel lost in the space between who you were and who you’re becoming—unsure how to process the changes, too embarrassed to share what's going on, or struggling to find others who get it. You might simply want to feel understood, regain a sense of direction, and reconnect with what still matters to you.

I specialize in treating trauma, relationship to self, and grief.
I'm someone who is ready to meet you where you are. As a counsellor, I believe people are wired for connection and healing. I am often complimented on my disarming and genuine presence, which I bring to therapy. If you're looking for counselling that is down-to-earth and deep, I'd love to chat! Outside of regular talk therapy, I also offer EMDR and Neurofeedback. I like getting creative and have been known to break out the art supplies, creative writing, and my trusty white board to aid in our work together. I don't believe in a "one-size fits all" approach, but instead will build sessions which are tailored to your needs.

Everyone's reasons for looking for a therapist are different. You might be here because something doesn’t feel quite right. Maybe you find yourself overthinking, trying to predict the future or make the “right” decision, yet still feeling unsure. You may feel disconnected from yourself - like you’ve lost touch with what you actually want, need, or feel. I primarily work with teens (13+) and adults who want to better understand themselves, feel more grounded, and begin building trust in who they are.

My ideal clients are teens and adults who appear to have it all together on the outside, yet internally feel weighed down by anxiety. It can show up as a tightness in the chest, a sinking feeling in the stomach, or a constant stream of worries that interrupt sleep, relationships, and confidence. Anxiety can feel like an undertow—pulling you away from the life you want to be living.

Grief Counsellors
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
