As a Ukrainian, I learned early that life doesn’t always offer stability, but it taught me that we heal not by avoiding pain, but by staying connected to what makes us human. If you struggle with emotional triggers or relationship patterns, you’re in the right place. Many clients come to me wanting more calm, better sleep, and a deeper connection to themselves as they move toward lasting change.

I consider it a privilege to accompany individuals on their life journey, attentively listening to the narratives that have shaped their present circumstances. I am a trauma informed therapist who is passionate about unraveling the inner negative core beliefs developed amidst life's complexities and stories, recognizing their impact on our choices and future. In my practice, I firmly believe that individuals possess the resilience to navigate through their challenges when they have access to the right tools and a supportive space. Witnessing the transformation of hurting individuals into healed and restored beings brings me life.

Feeling overwhelmed or pulled in so many different directions? Maybe, you feel unsettled, anxious or just “stuck.” You know that something needs to change, but are not sure where to start. Processing emotional pain or relational struggles by yourself can be very overwhelming. And it can be unbearably lonely. The people I work with are amid grief, or navigating tricky life changes. Others are struggling with relationships or carrying the weight of past hurt and trauma. I work to help clients feel what they may have avoided because it seemed too big and overwhelming.

I am pleased to meet people in life transitions and utilize relational and emotionally focused therapies to support you.
I'm someone who is ready to meet you where you are. As a counsellor, I believe people are wired for connection and healing. I am often complimented on my disarming and genuine presence, which I bring to therapy. If you're looking for counselling that is down-to-earth and deep, I'd love to chat! Outside of regular talk therapy, I also offer EMDR and Neurofeedback. I like getting creative and have been known to break out the art supplies, creative writing, and my trusty white board to aid in our work together. I don't believe in a "one-size fits all" approach, but instead will build sessions which are tailored to your needs.

I also work with couples working through communication, trust and connection challenges using an emotionally focused and attachment-based approach
Like you, your story is unique and important and deserves to be heard in a validating and respectful way. Sometimes the “story we tell ourselves” has negative messages about our worth and abilities and keeps us emotionally, personally or relationally stuck in unhelpful thoughts and behaviours. I would be honored to hear your story and help you strengthen your inner resources to re-author it into one that better reflects who you want to be.

I am trained in EMDR, ACT, DBT, CBT, EFT, IFS, Gottman Couples therapy, and LENS Neurofeedback.
Seeking help is not always easy. Not knowing what to say, worrying about being a burden, fear of being judged or rejected…the list is endless. It takes a lot of courage to ask for help because we will have to put ourselves in a vulnerable place, where we surrender control. I believe vulnerability is the key to any close relationship. And here you are, bravely taking the first step towards the journey of healing and reconnection. Congratulations! Now that you have chosen to reflect on the past and move forward, I hope to have the honour of providing a safe and welcoming space for you to let the healing begin.

Life can look “fine” on the outside while feeling overwhelming on the inside. You may be the person others rely on, the one who keeps it together, cares for everyone else, and pushes through stress, while quietly carrying anxiety, burnout, relationship struggles, grief, or unresolved pain from the past. Over time, this can leave you feeling disconnected from yourself, stuck in old patterns, or unsure how to create meaningful change.

Hurting people hurt people, but they also tend to hurt themselves in the long run. The need for an unbiased and non-judgemental person to talk to can serve to provide a sense of relief from the stress you may be facing in the moment. I believe that is what we may need in our lives, and I am able to serve you in this area. For whatever your needs may be, I will tailor the treatment plan accordingly and strive to find the best approach to meet them.

Do you feel stuck in which direction to take in life? As if you're lost in a forest. Confused about what to do or where to go to find relief. Maybe you've felt like something in your life has been off, and you want to seek clarity to gain insight into some of your life experiences. The unsettling question, which seems easier at times to tuck away for later, tugs at your heart and mind, "What's happening to me?" Wow, the fact that you are allowing space for these unsettling wonderments takes courage.

Emotionally Focused Counsellors
Who is emotionally focused therapy for?
Emotionally focused therapy (EFT) is for couples who are emotionally distressed, stuck in an unsatisfying relationship pattern or feeling deeply alienated. They may even believe the relationship is beyond repair. Very often, the partners display intense anger, fear, grief, loss of trust, or a sense of betrayal in the relationship. In addition, EFT is helpful to couples and individuals who have difficulty expressing emotions and those who have trouble regulating emotions.

Why do people need emotionally focused therapy?
People need emotionally focused therapy because the need for others is built into the brain, but the pressures of daily life can erode feelings of love, and couples often do not have the skills to find their way back to the comfort of each other. Instead, they may be stuck in repetitive patterns of anger, fear, grief, loss of trust, or a sense of betrayal. Emotionally focused therapy regards such strong negative feelings as expressions of protest over the loss of connection and turns them into pathways of reconnection.

What happens in emotionally focused therapy?
Over the course of eight to 20 weekly sessions, couples de-escalate their negative emotional reactivity to one another so that they can listen to each other and be responsive to each other’s needs. Then the deep emotional and physical bond is restored, giving partners a sense of comfort and security, which they can use to solve whatever problems come their way. The therapist plays an active role, helping partners understand how anger and withdrawal are actually misguided cries for connection.

What problems does emotionally focused therapy treat?
EFT is designed to help couples stuck in dysfunctional relationship patterns regain closeness and rebuild their relationship. Typically, such couples experience considerable distress, with partners feeling alienated and distrustful of one another, not certain their relationship can survive. EFT is also helpful to individuals experiencing attachment-related fears of loss; it helps them learn to use their fears as a way of eliciting the closeness they desire.
