Oftentimes we feel ‘stuck’ as though no movement forward is possible, or that our story is too complex to navigate and find healing from. Through my own experience, and in journeying alongside others, I have come to believe that freedom and life, even in the midst of significant pain and loss is possible. My clinical approach is unique, as I seek to incorporate the spiritual journey of the client, as understood through a Christian worldview, into the therapeutic process. I work using a parallel process of deepening your understanding of Self, and of God as you begin to reflect on your story.

Are you stressed at work and can’t sleep at night? Feeling worried, stuck and overwhelmed? I understand that these experiences can lead to feelings of loss – loss of control, loss of freedom, and loss of passion for your life. You might have been trying different strategies on your own, trying to power through the problem, relying on will power alone. Truth is - it’s not that you need to “work harder”. What you need is someone with the right knowledge and skills to guide you through the process and point you in the right direction. You are in the right place and you have options.

I have the honor of supporting teens and adults on their healing journeys—helping them reconnect with their inner wisdom.
Counselling is a deeply personal journey —a space where you can unpack your experiences and reconnect with the deeper parts of yourself. It takes real courage to show up and allow yourself to be vulnerable. Maybe you've been carrying the weight of past wounds for a long time, or perhaps there are parts of you that you've kept hidden out of fear, shame, or simply not knowing where to start. Whatever has brought you here, know that you are welcome—just as you are. Together, we can gently bring those hidden parts into the light, fostering self-compassion and understanding, and make sense of what may be keeping you stuck.

It is my passion to help youth and young adults deal with the problems they face.
I use an eclectic approach in my practice that includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Compassion Focused Therapy. I am quite methodical and organized in my practice which allows me to see both the big picture and still have attention to detail.

I support individuals navigating grief and loss, religious trauma, infertility and perinatal mental health, faith deconstruction and reconstruction. I also enjoy working with parents seeking support, and with individuals who are carrying the weight of shame, spiritual harm, or attachment wounds that have shaped how they move through life. I also love working with teens and supporting them as they explore their internal world, build emotional awareness, and strengthen self-understanding.

I primarily work with youth and young adults; helping navigate the unique challenges of developing in the new world of technology, social rules, and freedoms.
I hope to hold a compassionate space where we can see the intention behind your behaviours and hold you with compassion, while still challenging you to grow closer to the person you want yourself to be. I work with clients who hope for honest and accurate understandings of themselves and their behaviour; not every thought, feeling, or action is beneficial, but each has an intent that can be discovered through reflection, self-compassion, acceptance, and exploration. With the intention discovered, new ways of being can be explored that meaningfully fulfills the needs you've been trying to meet.

I can understand how overwhelming and exhausting it can feel to carry things alone for so long. Many of the clients I connect with describe experiences of trauma, substance use and addiction, anxiety, or relationship challenges, often spending much of their lives in survival mode while wanting to feel more than the weight of their past. Making sense of the behavior patterns and coping strategies that were developed to keep you safe, understanding the emotions your mind and body carry, and exploring the experiences that may have shaped you can help build the self-awareness needed to move forward with more intention.

I work with adults and couples to understand repeating patterns and build calmer everyday responses.
Are you exhausted from repeating the same arguments, feeling distant from your partner, or stretched thin by parenting stress? It can be even harder when you're also building a life in a new country — parenting across cultures, carrying expectations from family back home, with no time that ever feels like your own.

You don’t have to hold these alone. In our work together, I offer a warm and supportive space where your story is honoured, your needs are heard, and healing can begin at your own pace.

You may look like you’re holding it together on the outside, but inside feel anxious, overwhelmed, or not good enough, often caught in overthinking and unable to quiet your mind. You may care deeply for others but lose touch with yourself by putting their needs first, struggling to say no without guilt and leaving yourself drained or unsure of who you are. Sometimes these patterns have roots in feeling unseen, rejected, or as though love and approval had to be earned. Through our work together, you can begin to feel more grounded in yourself, confident in what you need, and secure in your relationships.

FAQ - About Adult Counselling
Why should adults see a therapist?
Adults may benefit from therapy for a wide range of reasons—whether it’s managing symptoms of a diagnosed mental health condition like anxiety or depression, navigating life transitions, coping with grief or trauma, or simply seeking support during a challenging life period. Many adults find that therapy helps them build healthier coping skills and better process their emotions, which may lead to better relationships and reduced stress. It’s important to note that, unlike psychiatrists or primary care physicians, therapists do not prescribe psychiatric medication. However, they will often work alongside prescribing clinicians to ensure coordinated care and can provide behavioural therapy as an important addition to psychiatric medication. Mental health concerns can look different in adulthood than in childhood or adolescence, so finding a therapist with expertise working with adult clients is important. Conditions like major depressive disorder (MDD), generalised anxiety disorder (GAD), bipolar disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for instance, may present or resurface differently in adulthood than in childhood or adolescence. Adult-specific stressors, such as job strain, caregiving responsibilities, relationship challenges, financial stress, or identity transitions, can also influence the onset and type of symptoms an individual experiences. Adult-focused therapists, therefore, are trained to understand these complexities and tailor care accordingly.

How do I know if a therapist is the right fit for me?
When seeking care, it’s important to understand a therapist’s treatment specialties and their overall approach to treatment . Some therapists focus on common adult conditions like anxiety or depression, while others specialize in areas such as trauma, substance use disorders, or obsessive-compulsive disorder. It’s also important to consider a therapist’s training when seeking care. Therapists in Canada hold various licenses depending on their training and provincial requirements. Common therapy credentials include Registered Social Workers (RSW), Registered Psychotherapists, and Certified Canadian Counsellors (CCC). Psychologists (PhD or PsyD) receive additional doctoral-level training and may focus on assessments or more specialized therapeutic approaches. All of these professionals can provide talk therapy but do not prescribe medication. When searching for a therapist, consider their credentials and training background to ensure a good fit.

How do I find a therapist who sees adults?
Psychology Today’s online directory allows you to search specifically for therapists who work with adults. Each provider profile includes key information such as clinical specialties, therapeutic approaches, licensure, accepted insurance plans, languages spoken, and session fees. Reviewing these details can help you determine whether a particular provider aligns with your needs and can indicate whether they are a good match for adult clients.
