My clients come longing for stress relief for themselves or someone close, better relationship health, help with self-care and life meaning, and/or boundary support with others. Many experience significant grief and trauma. Parents want support in helping their children to grow holistically with a sense of self agency, cultural fluidity, meaningful life insights, and innovative/creative energy. Some come due to conflicted family breakups and needing support with loving, developmental missing pieces, and overcoming parental neglect or bypassing, or overcoming addictions.

My philosophy of practice is to work closely with you so that you accomplish your goals in therapy. Working with you, I provide a combination of narrative, cognitive behavioral therapy, and coaching in order to help you achieve the health and well being that you want to gain. I have experience with trauma victims with P.T.S.D. using E.M.D.R. as a method of healing. There are also times where I can work with you using Brief Solution Focused Therapy because there are situations that do not require long term therapy.

As a Registered Clinical Counsellor with over 25 years experience, my heart’s work is to be a sacred witness for those carrying the weight of trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, and addiction. I offer compassionate support to people of all genders, while my primary passion and focus are devoted to women’s healing and empowerment. I help you understand the coping mechanisms that helped you survive but now show up as patterns that hold you back and cause you to think, feel, and behave in ways that no longer serve you. I believe deeply in every person’s innate capacity for healing and growth.

My ideal client has often dug themselves into a hole into which they can not get out of on their own. The issues will be related to a difficult relationship of some description, partner, family, community, finance, environment, financial, and certainly themselves. It is likely that their goals are uncertain and that they feel lost. Very often, my ideal client does not know what they want, but can with certainty say what they don't want.

I would love to meet you and offer you real change and skills to move forward into wholeness and freedom. I believe the best healing involves all parts of us; mind, body, emotions and spirit. In our fast-paced society, opportunities to be deeply heard, respected and affirmed are scarce. I help clients from a position of respect and non-judgemental curiosity, while clarifying core beliefs, values and goals for change. The tools I have to offer are evidence-based and scientifically proven. The lens I use as I sit with clients is that every human being is a person of worth and value and deserves unconditional positive regard.

Hi! It’s kind of overwhelming here, hey? So. Many. Therapists. You’ve got this, trust your gut :) Since you’re here, I’ll share a little about me. I help people who feel anxious, overwhelmed, or lost in their own life. Maybe you’re tired of holding it all together, reacting in ways you don’t like, or putting everyone else first and losing yourself in the process. I also support couples stuck in the same fight, feeling more like roommates, or afraid to be honest. Whether you come on your own or with a partner, you’ll get real tools, support that fits you, and the confidence to show up as the real you.

Like many people, I grew up in an environment where we didn't talk about our struggles and emotions. From an early age, I learned to keep the difficult things inside and deal with my emotions on my own. In 1999, I became a crisis phone counsellor and realized that I wasn't the only one who had had this kind of experience. I realized that a lot of people felt the way I did and kept their emotions inside. For the first time, I learned how healing it could be to share struggles with supportive people.

Feeling disconnected from yourself, your partner, or your sense of purpose? Life’s transitions, big and small, can stir up uncertainty and strain even our closest relationships. Whether you’re navigating change, wanting to deepen your connection, or longing to feel more at ease in yourself, therapy can offer a space to slow down, reflect, and realign with what matters most. I work with those ready to live with more intention and authenticity. My approach is warm, compassionate, and direct. Together, we’ll explore what’s standing in the way of greater connection, clarity, and fulfillment, and work toward practical, meaningful change.

Have you spent years being the strong one, keeping it together, often at the cost of your own needs? Underneath anxiety, people-pleasing, or burnout is often a deeper longing—to feel connected, authentic, and alive. In our work, we explore the patterns that once helped you survive but now keep you stuck. With a naturally present and relational approach, I support you in reconnecting with your sense of self - not by fixing the past, but by building awareness and choice in the present. None of us are meant to do this alone - including YOU!

How does therapy for people affected by a divorce work?
Individuals may feel a number of emotions following a divorce, such as shock, guilt, grief, anger, and fear. Therapists offer a non-judgmental space for individuals to talk about what they’ve experienced and process their emotions. Therapists will help clients develop coping strategies. They can also help a client rebuild their sense of self and self-worth and talk about what a happier future might look like.

What’s the most common type of therapy following a divorce?
There are several types of therapy that may be useful for divorce, including cognitive behavioural, acceptance and commitment, solution-focused brief, and mindfulness-based therapies. Many therapy types are talk-therapy based, which is typically the most popular option for individuals dealing with divorce. Cognitive behavioural therapy is a widely-used talk therapy, however, there’s no specific therapy type that’s designed to help people with divorce, and different types will work depending on the person.

When should an individual seek help due to a divorce?
When the feelings of a divorced individual, or an individual going through the process of divorce, begin to disrupt healthy daily functioning, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not performing at work due to problems with anxiety or motivation, if they’re no longer seeing friends due to feelings of shame, or if they’re not properly taking care of themselves as a result of depression, speaking to a professional could help.

How do you encourage someone to go to therapy due to a divorce?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the individual while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Sharing how the individual appears to be suffering, and what effects it has on them or on their children, should be done with compassion and empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
